We need to get our KPPs to develop, in the upcoming draft. Brady and Luff have their work cut out...

NM receive PP 19

Bailey Dale - 5 x 850k
Someone falls out at Western, and it just so happens it's to us and a position of need.

Travis Boak - 1 x 750k with 1 year option
Much needed leadership on field, elite trainer/preparer, runs both ways, inside/outside and still in excellent form. Quality player.

Trade 1 -

NM trades pick 1 to GC for picks 5, 23, 29, 41

Trade 2 -

NM trades picks 23, 29, future 2nd to PA for pick 6

Trade 3 -

NM trades Zurhaar to WC for a future 2nd

Draft 5, 6, 19, 41, 55, 63

....

That's pretty good. No doubt in my mind we have to trade pick 1 (or, heaven forbid, pick 2) for more picks.

Given the value of our first round pick in 2023 I'd be tempted to trade that as well to get another top pick this year (and hopefully get a second round back for 2023).

The issue with getting Hurn is, we are at rock bottom and WCE are currently below us on the ladder, they’ve got a whole heap of premiership players on that list and look at what they are dishing up..
Is a bit of buyer beware situation with eagles leaders.
They've been decimated with COVID and injuries if they had their full team out on the park they would toy with us..

Tim Taranto (2)
Callan Ward (19)
Lachie Whitfield (1)
Hasn't really been a winning strategy for us recently.

Trade our first pick for a couple of picks.

Trade one of those picks for a KPD ages 21-24 to fit in with our young core.

Use the other pick on a young KPF as insurance for Larkey and Comben. Let him develop.

End up bringing in a young KPD, a KPF prospect and Cooper Harvey and we have done okay.

O'Halloran would be the best, most realistic get. We could give him midfield minutes (specifically on the wing although I'm not too sure he'd want to play there for us despite being a good wingman). He's a St Bernard's boy and therefore Essendon probably a strong chance if he wants to come back based on area, we probably have a better trading relationship with the Giants though.

Angwin and Stone are probably the worst ones there / most unproven but they could also both play wing for us and would come for relatively cheaper IMO depending on their contract situation. IMO we really need an upgrade on wing, Angwin is an elite runner from what I remember from his draft year. Stone more of a forward as of now and I believe he will be in Giants team long term.

Bruhn or Callaghan (when he's OOC) would be the dream but they would cost a farm and a half.

The issue with suggesting we trade in players from other clubs is that they have to actually want to come to us.

Any player worth trading for (i.e. fringe players at good clubs) will likely attract interest from other clubs as well. Outside of offering them more money or a better chance to play (in what is currently a rabble of a side) we don't have a lot to sell at the minute.

Really hope we can show some direction and excitement again come end of season or we are going to be pigeonholed into going to the draft again (I think we need some middle age players to compliment the kids).

You have to remember it's a 'what have you done for me lately' league.

If we could somehow string some good footy together in the last 6 rounds, maybe pinch a couple of games and look exciting, hopefully we can create enough buzz to get some consideration...

1 or 2 peak footballers in positions of need would be excellent.

Bailey Dale and Caleb Daniel’s unrestricted free agents. Would be nice, cap space only

Daniel is a big no for me. Guy is a genuine defensive liability and if you think Hall does SFA, wait til you watch this fella in a bad team. Dogs play better when they don't look to cascade the ball through him.

Bailey Dale though. Dogs would much prefer retain him over Daniel and will command Jordan Dawson money.

Reports are that Caleb Daniel has signed a long term deal
