I’d just trade out our F1 to whoever for their highest bid.

Then offer Melb and F2 from north and leave it at that.

I’d prefer to bypass this years draft and stock capital next year. We will get Gold Coasts first if we have enough round 2s so that they can bank points for their academy.
Banking up a lot of F2,F3 is a great idea.

Gold Coast has 4 academy players and 2 in the first round.

Surely, the Suns will trade out their first and second round picks for more points.

There’s no urgency to trade out their future 1st now, but we’ll have heaps of options next year with many picks inside 60. Grabbing back a first would be cool.

If Meek is traded we’ll get a pick.

What we receive from Lobb will go to GC for Sharp.

Possibly no ND players coming in??
I highly doubt the pick from Lobb will go to GC for Sharp.

More likely either our own F2 or the trade from Meek will go to Sharp.

We have to pick in the draft anyway there are rules. Even if it 5th and 6th round picks which in reality will be something like Pick 64 and Pick 66.

No JVR is not more of a need than Jackson. Treacy and Amiss are ahead of JVR. JVR offers nothing in the ruck as Lobb will be gone. Cmon Man.

If JVR has a pinch of vertical or body on body contested marking in him then he’s in front of Treacy by a mile

Luke Jackson and Rory Lobb will be going through this exact same scenario right now.
We will have told Luke he will be a Docker.
Bulldogs will have told Rory he will be at the kennel next year.

It’s a great insight into what a player actually goes though in the trade period.
The buying club makes the promise and they really have to deliver on it and do in most cases.

The North Melbourne F3 would be fair for sharp I reckon.
If we pay a second for a player they have to be seen to be B22 by the club, and on reasonably decent coin too. Jordan Clark and Aish two good recent examples.
Actually - was Aish extended at all??
Agree - North F3PP should be all that’s needed for Sharp. It would be a pick in the late 30s for a guy who was taken in the late 20s and not been able to establish himself in their B22.

And Aish signed in for 3 years a little while back.

Sharp was taken at 27 but GC used a future pick 11 to obtain that pick 27. The future pick 11 was part of their assistance package.

I doubt it gets done for a 3rd when he has a year to run.

I was thinking about this point yesterday. The fact they used pick 11 in 2020 to get sharp at 27 in 2019 was their own stupid fault. Of course Geelong were the winner again from that transaction, what’s new.
The simple fact is that Sharp was regarded by the 18 club recruiters at the 27th best player in his draft.
Just because those dumb fools at GC used pick 11 - not our problem.

True. But, they did give up 11, so they may simply wish to hope they see a return on that investment.

I think our 2nd is generous and around the mark. Lots to play out.

Yep its annoying but he is contracted, we have to pay overs unfortunately

Sucks that they are salary dumping elsewhere yet won't dump sharp who barely gets games

Yep F2. Very Likely ours.

But to get that over line we need to satisfy AFL because we are trading out F1 to Melbourne. I’m assuming that it will be ok because we traded in PP-F2.

Which means zero chance a F2 (either ours or the North PP) will be headed to Melbourne for LJ.

A lot will depend on the discussions GC have with Sharp this weekend. If he is set on going and not really wanting to return then they will just make do and accept the F2. It does appear that he isn’t high priority and we are happy to sit on this for another 12months if needed. If GC drive a hard bargain and so desperately want to keep him then we close negotiations and move on. A very good chance the same thing happens for us with Meek. It will have to be F2 from Hawks. It is a high price but under contract.

Geez, if you think the Luke Jackson thread is bad, get a load of the JHF ones. **** me dead.

I forgot the pick 11 part. How stupid of them.

But it doesn’t make him worth North’s Rd2 from us imo.

I guess you can be reckless when you get gifted an endless supply of first rounders. 😏

We paid 8 or whatever it was for Logue... I don't get your point

Logue was clearly an athlete, ok footballer projected to become an above average footballer - hindsight- Tim English at pick 9 and more so Shai Bolton at pick 29 - if you are considering WA boys only would have fitted in perfectly …. Big year 2016 for busts and under achievers.

Well there’s a few.
Sharp is contracted and only played a few years.
Logue wasn’t in contract and played 6 years.

If Henry wanted out would we accept a F2 just because? Or would we say ‘He was a top 10 pick with a year to run’

The points not overly difficult to understand.

A. I'm drunk
2. Yes

Hope this helps.
