Disagree. It is excellent off field management.

We fail to extract the same regional loyalty that Geelong does from players despite appealing to a regional demographic.

We fail to attract the same third party sponsorships.

We can improve those aspects significantly.

I’m talking about the overall AFL comp. Forget us for a moment. We are middle of the pack on this kind of stuff. Being in WA is both an advantage and a disadvantage to us at different times. We’ll never benefit like Geel on g and Richmond and Collingwood do from Free agency etc, but the fact that a substantial amount of players come from WA mean that we won’t ever be the worst either.

The sport is meant to be an equalised competition. That is what makes it special.

I just want a reasonably equal comp for all. Where teams who win do so because of good drafting, talent ID, development, list management, good culture etc.
Not one where vultures can pick over the carcasses of weaklings like GC, GWS, north etc.
The move towards salary dumping for example, benefits the top sides and disadvantages weaker teams even More. That’s purely within control of the AFL.
