Fox are saying Liam Jones will get Carlton late 40’s compo pick which along with F3 will form pieces of a trade for Acres.

Liam Jones moving as a free agent from Carlton to Dogs on Monday makes the comment from Colin Young about Acres being done on Tuesday interesting. I wonder if it's a deal similar to Brad Hill where whatever free agency compensation comes though for the player leaving goes to pay for the new incoming player.

Mayne > #23 > Hill
Jones > #29 or #47 > Acres

Just think about his career, was on the news, heading towards a comfortable retirement.

Now he’s literally throwing out tweets, for a few bucks from the WCE.

He should be planning his free time, but he’s probably been dumb with his money and now is desperate. He’ll do anything for cash now.

I’m 100% confident he knows it’s bullshit, he doesn’t believe it, hence why he’s blocking everyone that’s negative. He’s probably down on himself ending up where he is now.

Don’t be angry at him, be sad. He was in a great job, which he lost prematurely, in most professions your best monetary years are late in your career. He’s essentially shaking a can on a corner now. Except the can is inflammatory tweets.

I’d throw him a dollar if he came to Freo and busked.
How, exactly, did he come to lose his position at Channel 7?
Lol, he ain't John Butler!

Two thirds is a good deal for Acres

In no world is 2x 3rds for a best 22, 26 year old winger in a finals side a good deal.

He will walk straight into Carlton’s 22 and park himself on the wing for the next 5 years.

I can’t understand our list management, we’ve got Hamling, Hughes sitting in the 2nds taking up salary cap space while we can’t retain our best 22 winger over 100-200k. Nuts.

Better than 1 3rd.
I’d be ok with 47 and F3, GC need points next year for their academy players so we could bundle up a lot of Future picks to get back into the first round next year, F3 from Carlton, F2 PP and F3 PP would just about get it done, if we are back in the 1st round, we’d be able to trade our F3 as well if required

It's hard to disagree with this unless we really didn't see him as part of our plans next year.

Team, new update, post as many trade articles as you find and ping me when you do, I'll threadmark them so they are easy for everyone to find.

First matter of business, where is my fox article saying what Jones compo is going to be and how it ties with Acres Superkoops?

I thought Treacy was 193?

5 years? If Acres is not delisted at the end of his next contract I will eat my hat.

Sure perhaps he will continue his best from 2022 and honestly good luck to him and I hope he does.

But he could also revert to his mediocre to crap form which is what he usually showed for the majority of the time he was at Freo and St Kilda. Or more injury interruptions he has had.

Two 3rds is reasonable, hopefully we get them and just move on.

Think the pressure has been put on to give Erasmus and Johnson into the side. Think his spot was up for grabs

We are getting a first from the Dogs or he stays!
can’t see dogs giving 11 or 15 without wanting freo PP from north back. Think next years draft is so good they need to keep that pp pick more then getting a first this year

could be 29 & F2 for lobb & F3 I reckon they’d take that

100-200k? He could have got more with us than Carlton are offering, if he was willing to back himself in to hit KPI's. He has taken the easy money, and we can't be held to ransom when we have so many young stars to pay in the future. It all adds up.

Hamling is contracted and we need KPD depth. Hughes is contracted and nobody would want him, so what can we do? Can't undo what has already been done. Hughes is actually worth mentioning as a case study in what the club might be wary of with Acres.
