Thomas and Stengle’s issues are incomparable.

I don’t consider anyone’s comments here racist but it’s very lazy.

Thomas is a big pre season away from making improvement. He doesn’t have any off field issues as far as I’m aware.

Eddie has done a fantastic job at Geelong, I would love to see him back at the club, but he is not the answer to every indigenous kid not playing to their potential, because there are a million reasons why that may be.

Not any indigenous player out there... that's making an unnecessary assumption. Narkle didn't do too well with Eddie there did he? But it's no coincidence how well Stengle performed his role and turned his attitude...

I've seen Eddie raised as a factor in the potential recruitment of about a dozen different indigenous players over the past couple of weeks.

Where did I say Eddie had nothing to do with Stengle's year?

Has Thomas ever met Eddie? Has he had anything to do with him at all?

Every chance he hasn't, in which case I could probably think of a fair few he'd trust more than Eddie...maybe a thousand or two?

I'd say chances are he has met him. But regardless why does he have to have met him? You don't think he would have looked up to him? You don't think he holds him of the highest regard and respect?

Name those thousand. Go ahead.

Yes because he is a very highly respected figure and rightly so... in fact, not only would Eddie be great mentor for the indigenous players, he'd be great for all.

Maybe you would begrudge the club for bringing in Thomas/another indigenous player along with Eddie, I for one would be pretty excited if they did that.

I don't care about what some snowflake wants to cry about. As soon as someone cries racism these days it's become fashion to jump on board.

I'd challenge anybody to think of someone Thomas would put more trust into than Eddie Betts? Who would he rather learn from? It's not racist at all... geez hate to think of the club copping it if they actually did get Thomas across with Eddie... we'd be just as racist as our theme song
So you don't care yet are bleating about it all the same?
The notion that Eddie can get the best out of any and all indigenous players is tired, whether you like it or not.

I dare say most people wouldn't automatically trust someone they haven't met, just because they have the same skin colour.

Maybe I'm wrong, but personally as a white person I don't straight away trust every white person I bump into regardless of how esteemed they are.

Name those thousand. Go ahead.

I'm guessing he has plenty of family and friends who he's known for a long time and who he'd have more trust in than someone he may have never met.

But yeah, sure. Focus on the thousand and pretend it wasn't hyperbole all you like.

If you're an 18 year old kid, just been drafted, would you be happy the club brings in Chris Judd to be your mentor? Or will you call them racist?

His family and friends aren't footy coaches fmd at least make sense. This is done.

Notice you didn't answer the question in the post you quoted. I wonder why?

Back to my original comment, just because he did a great job with Stengle doesn't mean he'll do the same for anyone else, and the suggestion that we should go down that path because of it is at best tedious, at worst much worse.

It sure is - you've seemingly completely lost the plot in here. Not a bad time to walk away.

What question about Stengle's year? Why does that even matter? I agree just because it worked for Stengle doesn't mean it will work for anyone else, but the evidence is there that Eddie knows what he's doing. No reason to not want him ;)

The major and obvious point- Chris Judd isn't held up as the fix-all for any player considered to be in need of guidance.
Yeah until you and jeremy want to turn it into something it's not. We are not parading around some notion saying if the club bring in ANY indigenous player we should bring Eddie on board....

Just think it would be a good move if we were to bring in Thomas.
Not at all - just highlighting the weird rationale on display.

It matters in the context of the discussion that was being had, before you decided to jump in and take things completely out of said context.

I never said I didn't want Eddie. Again you're so worked up that you don't appear to even know what the original discussion was.

As you said, probably time to leave it there.
