What's the hold up with the Acres deal? Are they trying to haggle over a 3rd rounder? Was touted to be one of the first to get done....
Not sure if that trade is directly effected, but according to Jake Niall and Michael Gleeson on the Age footy podcast this evening, there was some stuff-up with the AFL's system which meant trades couldn't go through.

According to Twomey the trade will get done tomorrow.

Who’s saying the contract value doesn’t go down? - I never said that at all. I said past, present and future determines the contract- if you’re a gun on squllions & then stink it up or just age out, of course the value decreases.
I didn’t say anything about rise/decrease, just the mechanisms used to determine value - ie your past, present & future value to the club!
No one invests in past performance mate - because the past has nothing to do about teh future and the future is what everyone is paid to do well in.
All teh past does is keep or put a player in the game - for as long as their future potential is relevant to the demand side of the equation.

This is pretty basic stuff btw- nothing Arrow is saying is anything more than common sense and how any successful business runs its books as far as people go ...

Past performance is a pretty good indicator of future output- it’s a factor.
Not saying is weighted as highly, but it’s a metric used.
Like any successful business you balance what’s worked previously, what’s working now & what u hope to achieve in the future. You take in all relevant data- surely that’s not to hard to grasp.

Not every player on the list has a upside.
As Arrow mentioned average wage is going to be close $400k soon.

TDK has a year to run on his contract, he has 12-18 months to hit his peak, despite some negativity on here he carried the load on his own for most of the season.
We would expect him to go to the next level in the next 1-2 years so $500-$550k is not far off the mark.

Geelong are very keen to attract him in the near future.

Well send him there then, and we'll take the pick 7 Geelong get for Bowes.

Pitto has 3 years on TDK
I get pitto is older more experienced etc and should be playing at a better level today than TDK n TDK needs time but on current output I wouldn’t pay a reserves backup up ruckman 550k.
I get we might have to pay that on potential and hopefully he does a chol as you suggested but currently TDK is average at best

I wouldn't be offering big money to TDK, but I don't believe it's accurate to say he's a reserve ruck.

Played 19 games this year including a significant number in tandem with Pittonet. He's clearly very much in the frame for senior selection each week.

The difference is Cerra always came across as a professional player who gave Freo his best week in and out.

JHF has been a bit a sooky unprofessional ******* since he arrived.

Lol, are we in year 10?

Agree JHF has been far from 100% professional at North, but how a player performs has nothing to do with them moving home. So each player now has to pass the Footy Public’s Keyboard Pepsi Challenge to get the tick of approval before going home, or else we’ll keyboard bash the crap out of a 19 year old on social media.

Yep, a player gets homesick. So friggin’ what.
