You don’t want him to be friendly with the players.

It’s his job to sack and trade them.
Why the rumours around him not lasting out the review..?

Is it Brad Hill and NWM
Both recruited without much thought on a plan for Hills talents and the potential for NWM wanting to go home…surly not just on his shoulders..?

He probably had our third most Brownlow votes for half a season last year and we turned around our season when he came in. Embarrassing that fans back the club despite all evidence showing that they make constant mistakes.
They make plenty of mistakes but Dunstan was not one of them.

We just promoted him.

Yes as I noted above. Plus he and Lethlean are very very tight.

Lethlean is on the Review Panel, and is the new CEO. I would be amazed if Gags is going anywhere even if he actually deserves to go.

Lethlean and Gags will already be knee deep into whomever players from other clubs we bring in this trade period. Depending who we land (or not), and how the Saints go in 2023, could in 12 months decide Gags future. But right now I extremely doubt he is going anywhere.

Yes, I don’t understand why he would have enough day to day contact with the playing group that they would have an opinion on him ?!.

He should be as back office as they come.
They all work out of Moorabbin. He would go along interstate etc.

So he has contact.

But not having a relationship with the players isn’t a prerequisite to his job.

His job is about creating the next premiership list for the saints.

He doesn’t need to be friends with players to do that. He doesn’t even need to be friends with Ratts. But I hope they have a good relationship

Why do you say he looks like a other Heath? Because they are both young?

Bryan won Essendons VFL best and fairest last year and has already played senior footy which is a good sign for a 20 year old ruck.

Fair enough, he's going better than Heath but having watched him he doesn't look outstanding. His stats look good though. Tom Campbell looks like a superstar at that level. So did Paul Hunter.

Well for us, he is slow and we already have a bevvy of slow mids which is supposedly a reason why Bytel has not played more games.

No it's not, Bytel was injured and concussed when a spot opened up with Steele going down. Steele, Ross, Gresham and Crouch all had excellent seasons so that inside mid role wasn't open. Losing Dunny was mistake I still think. Even if he played mostly Sandy games he would have probably helped us play finals. Our season fell away once Steele went down and never recovered. Matt Crouch suits modern footy, you need coal face extractors. I'd certainly look at Crouch for the Dunstan role. I think he'd end up playing most weeks.

It sounds like we intend to delist Jones so another depth mid to off set Bytel and him makes sense.

Well it was if we wanted to play finals. Why because you didn't rate him? List management has to allow for depth. We topped up with plenty of mature talent and we let a guy that was one of our best last season walk for free. Pretty dumb and pig headed IMO. Ratts bungled it.

Lol wut? Dunstan was our saviour? Lol really?

Geez this is a new one.

Keep being ignorant to save yourself the pain of knowing that I'm right. If he's there we almost certainly don't have the drop off after Steele went down. It was a poor decision by the club. He might not be a star but he's exactly what would have been handy. We ****ed it up over the way he was communicated with.

I kind of think our season went jittery when we lost Paddy through suspension then his form dropped off a bit with injury problems. He provided a lot of spark and energy to the team when in top form, but we didn't get it in the second part of this season. We really need to look closely at our ruck situation -as good as Marshall might be on his day, we need to bring along another ruck. Not sure from what I've see from Heath, but looks a long way off. Maybe Campbell needs to remain and play more in the seniors next season.

Campbell is in his 30's

Bryan is 20 years old

To me it makes sense chasing young talent that hasn't reached their potential rather then keep topping up with aging GOP's

Yes I am very ignorant. Only reason Melbourne made finals was superstar Dunstan in their ranks :D :D :D :D

You would have to be on mushrooms to think Dunstan gets us into the finals this year.

I don't know how many times it needs mentioned but one poster saying Jones should be delisted does not mean the club is planning on delisting him.

He is also contracted for next year.

Yep, apparently a premiership chance if we had of kept Dunstan. This is not even silly off season yet and we are getting this take :D :D
Yeah but Dunstan has clearly more chance of a premiership :trophy: this year than every player on our list.

Just checked the main board for Draft and Trading news. Very strange how there isn't even a mention, let alone a thread about a No 11 pick heading back home after one season.

Heard rumours that there are player who actively don't like him.

Depends on cost. Would rather find our own kid if he’s going to take a trade with Dodoro.
