You would have to be on mushrooms to think Dunstan gets us into the finals this year.

Why? He was probably our best player late last year and we lost it after Steele went down. I would say he almost would have certainly made a difference. Late when Gresham went down too.

Yes I am very ignorant. Only reason Melbourne made finals was superstar Dunstan in their ranks :D :D :D :D

He’s closer to a premiership than any other Saints listed player. He didn’t get them there but he might Bradbury himself a flag. Playing well at just the right time. The premiership winning side pulled him in in case of emergency. He just has to stay fit in case.

Heard rumours that there are player who actively don't like him.

Depends on cost. Would rather find our own kid if he’s going to take a trade with Dodoro.
Obviously every trade depends on the cost.

Nothing stopping us from walking away like we did with Xerri next year if the cost is too high

Not sure whether Dodo will be there by trade time

Even parts of the media are now suggesting he needs a change of scene.
I think given our need to invest in youth the flip side of that is the requirement to shift out a couple of middle tier guys to make way.
I think I'd like to see all of Nas, Windy, Chito, Bytel* and our FRDP this year lining up for round 1 next year. Something has to give.
Not billings and not for a lousy pick, I heard he wasn’t happy well he’s another who can suck it up and have a big summer. New rules, if you want to leave it’s only happening if it works for st Kilda fc, can’t exist buying high then selling low.

What's the knock on Matt Crouch? I don't think I've watched Adelaide play at all over the last few years, obviously he's out of favour there but was AA a few years ago. I'm not sure Adelaide are always the best judges... If you think we feel bad about Hind, imagine how their fans must feel watching Stengle.
His Nickname at the Crows is One Two..

He should be
Why he’s still a very good player, can’t lay the blame of a dysfunctional forward set up on 1 player. Might as well say trade Higgins, what sort of momentum killing small forward can’t be trusted 25 out directly in front.

No it's not, Bytel was injured and concussed when a spot opened up with Steele going down. Steele, Ross, Gresham and Crouch all had excellent seasons so that inside mid role wasn't open. Losing Dunny was mistake I still think. Even if he played mostly Sandy games he would have probably helped us play finals. Our season fell away once Steele went down and never recovered. Matt Crouch suits modern footy, you need coal face extractors. I'd certainly look at Crouch for the Dunstan role. I think he'd end up playing most weeks.

It sounds like we intend to delist Jones so another depth mid to off set Bytel and him makes sense.
Dunstan had his limitations but should never have been discarded like he was. I know he wanted out but that was really poor player management. That’s the saints though, newnes, acres, dunstan, Bruce all garbage give aways while we leave the store having payed overs for everyone else’s trash.

It‘s already starting again this year, battle, billing, bytel, butler haha it’s players beginning with B week, trade them all for a packet of chips.

Kid looks like a pencil, no point giving up too on potential alone or you just take another in the draft.
Id rather take some with potential than someone who hasn't even shown he is AFL standard

That’s true captain but it always comes down to cost, we were all over Draper but Essendon increased there offer and he stayed. We’d have looked pretty good if that had come off, I think max Heath shows a bit but we do need another ruck on the list Imo.

It's more damning for Bytel that two first year players have already overtaken him in the pecking order.
He had an interrupted preseason and season and we were trying to develop his outside game. Was trending up towards the end.

Hope we keep him, guys that can win clearance, contested ball, with good skills that aren't treacle slow don't grow on trees

Draper was a rookie pick up for them , this kid was a second rounder , i think in 2-3 years people will be saying i wish we got him

Haha honestly only you could escalate from "we shouldn't have hurt Dunstan's feelings" to "losing Dunstan almost certainly cost us finals". Windy into the middle was much better than anything Dunstan could offer.

And any that leave were the worst players ever but we keep overpaying for worse players. Acres has outperformed Hill and was steak knives. Carlton will get him for a fourth round pick. Langford was just about free but because we made a parade about getting Hill we backed ourselves into a corner.

Hickey also on that list. I can't remember the justification on here but he was great loss as well. Would have used the pick on Robbie Young or something.

We **** up our high end trades and only need to do those to make a distraction because we don't draft as well as others. It's a cycle of stupid. And the forum cheers it on like it's great management. We are like a demented geriatric that pays those nice young Irish guys $100,000 to fix their roofs and can't work out why it still leaks.

Part of management is having a side ready with depth. Keep him and we nearly certainly play finals.

Lol wut? Dunstan was our saviour? Lol really?

Geez this is a new one.

Ratts ****ed up because he bungled his communication but the real issue is we lost exactly the type of player that would have made a difference for zero. I don't care about the feelings part but we fractured a relationship and ****ed ourselves up. I only care about winning. If Ratts want to piss off players go for it but make sure he gets us into finals first or he can **** off. Windhager in his last patch of games has become a handy tagger but that isn't the output Dunny had last year.

Windhager is the future but you can have both like Geelong, Port and Richmond do. List management is a science and so far Gags looks more like a meth cook.

I think the only reason Bytel would leave is if another club guaranteed him senior football and I can't see that happening. I still hope he stays and keeps improving with us.

Maybe but we need to learn to draft rather than pay overs for everything. Most sides don't let their good players leave.
