Surely Chapman can pinch hit as a kpd now? And that is if one of Cox or Pearce are injured along with Hamling. We also have Hughes who can come in and perform a role despite being undersized. There is also the MSD.

Focus forward for me. Seems to be some decent enough options, plus someone like Lemmey who could develop at either end.

I'm a bit concerned at the quantity of longshot talks we are listing, many who project as needing long development time. I had hoped Kuek and Treacy would be pretty close to the 22.

Draper and Scaife plus a developing ruck sounds like an optimistic haul with little chance of impact for the immediate future. Is Benning further advanced?

Chris25 what’s your Thoughts on Lemmey and Scully two SA kids that fell down the ratings during the season. Would you take either?

I'd happily take either, particularly Lemmey. I have no idea where or if they'll be picked. But I still would.

Treacy is. He's talked about as being Amiss's main partner up forward.

There is a huge question mark on Draper. He missed most of the season with injury. Should of played for WA, and came back to play finals in defence.
Another basketballer with elite athleticism, and it may play out similar to
Treacy’s story.

I’m not across this discussion across Hewett and co. But that supposed info from an interviewing recruiter sounds like genuine BS to me. Yep jumping on a public forum like this and saying “Cracking the s*#ts”. Sounds a little like tip top Sumich and the comments he made about Trew.
Apparently now on the WC board he had Covid this year, and like the team they
have an excuse, because athletes take longer to overcome.
It destroyed two preseasons, I’d rather be a no excuse football club than that
delusional 😜

Just read an SEN article about R. Ginbey. Seen him play at Wesley and the kid is a real goer. This part of the transcript was interesting:

AFL Talent Analyst Mick Ablett said, “My mail is there is a whisper around that even West Coast are exploring an option of pushing a little bit higher up the draft in the hope of nabbing him before someone else.”

Didn’t they move down during the trade period??

Also read that Gold Coast are looking to get another top 15 pick. Didn’t they throw away 7 for nothing.

Some strange stuff going on with some of these clubs.

It would be amazing to see WC trade #8 and #12 to GC for #5 to take Ginbey.

Even if Ginbey turns out a star they will want something else back so the trade isn't just #2 > #8 & #12 > #5

A future pick in perhaps? #5 and F1 for #8 and #12 would be interesting.

Melbourne couldn't buy a top ten pick with two future firsts.

I think we all pretty much agree our #1 need is goal kickers of all shapes and sizes. Given where we'll be picking it's likely that will be more in the small and medium forward range, so who would I have at the top of our board?

For starters, I would love if Brayden George slipped all the way through to us because of his knee injury. It seems unlikely someone won't snap him up earlier in the second round. But luckily for us, there's a handful of similar prospects who are looking like falling in the 20-40 range...

Charlie Clarke - 182cm, 75kg from Vic Metro
Coby Burgiel - 183cm, 80kg from Vic Country
Jacob Konstanty - 177cm, 73kg from Vic Country
Jaiden Magor - 184cm, 75kg from South Australia

The highest rated one out of them would likely be Konstanty and he has been linked to Fremantle. Good chance he goes in the 15-25 range, though I would probably take the other three ahead of him anyway. If I was to give him a player comparison, it would be Sam Switkowski - having another defensive minded small forward wouldn't be a bad thing, but I think I'd rather something different personally. I rate Clarke the highest, but I also rate him higher than most - I think there's a bit of Zac Bailey about him in that he has the ability to pop up and kick 3 or 4 from nowhere.

Burgiel would be an interesting one for us, things would have to fall the right way for him to be available. He's quite a decent midfield prospect, good athletically and can both inside and out - but can also play forward and hit the scoreboard. I think he could be high on our list given his speed and potential to play wing too. While Magor is a similar prospect in that he's a powerful midfielder, but also a strong marking target as a medium forward and is being talked about perhaps going earlier than initially expected.

Some others who may fit the bill?

Olli Hotton - 181cm, 77kg from Vic Metro
Harry Rowston - 182cm, 78kg from GWS
Blake Drury - 176cm, 73kg from Vic Metro
Jed Hagan - 175cm, 73kg from WA
Noah Long - 178cm, 74kg from Vic Country

Seth Campbell - 179cm, 69kg from Tasmania
Archie Lovelock - 178cm, 72kg from South Australia
Brandon Leary - 177cm, 72kg from Tasmania

I'm grouping the first lot of guys together because they're all more midfield prospects who may end up as forward prospects at the top level - potentially even small defenders in the case of Hagan and Drury. I suspect Hotton will be off the board, but the others should be available at our first and potentially second and third picks.

The other three are guys who could come into the mix later, depending on how our first two picks went. I rate Lovelock quite highly personally, he's a real consistent presence and versatile. He reminds me of Brad Close from Geelong, not a star but a solid best 25 player who does his role and you don't have to worry about him. The two Tasmanians have both had really good years, with Campbell in particular offering some really good speed in the forward half.

And if we do go tall?

Max Gruzewski - 193cm, 84kg from Vic Metro
Isaac Keeler - 198cm, 88kg from South Australia
Harry Lemmey - 199cm, 94kg from South Australia
Tom Scully - 202cm, 89kg from South Australia

I still rate Isaac Keeler top 10 on talent and would love to bring him in, but I honestly don't know where any of him or Scully and Lemmey will go. If I had to guess? 20-35 for Keeler, 40-60 for Scully and 50+ for Lemmey. But I'd take any of them. Meanwhile Gruzewski had a good end to the season, really strong above his head and can play at either end of the ground.

You’re in South Aus what about Harry Boyd as mature age pick up - as very late ND or Rookie? He is at least quite versatile having played KPD and KPF.

Boyd had a good year and would be decent cover for ruck/KPP depth, I don't think he's likely for us though. I think we'd back ourselves to take a younger ruck and develop them as we did with Darcy and Meek. And with the comments from David Walls today, it sound like we are looking to bring one in.

The obvious one would be Jackson Broadbent, and I think I've mentioned most of the other ruck options before - Barnett, O'Keeffe, Knobel, Madden, Verrall. One who might be an option is Oscar Steene, 19 year old out of West Adelaide has had a bit of interest.

Walls said on Freo site that it will be best available at 30 then needs thereafter. The pick 30 could be anyone but the next two could be Adams/Lemmey and maybe Broadbent.

Mostly smalls and talls, with not many medium options mentioned. It is our #1 need in my opinion and I hope George slides or we pick up 1 or 2 out of Magor/Cole. I'd be happy to call Essendon's bluff on Munkara as well.

Which leads me to wonder where you have Tholstrup going next year? I saw him take a magnificent mark in one of Hewett's highlights and thought that is the exact type of player we need.

I agree a medium option would be ideal, but it’s not really a strength of this draft outside the first round. So we can only pick from what’s available.

So if we do go ‘small’, I’d go for someone with a point of difference to what we have now. I think Darcy Jones, Charlie Clarke and Coby Burgiel have that. So they’d be my preferences first up.

Jaiden Magor is someone I’d strongly consider too - probably more for our second or third pick if available. As for Harry Cole, I think he’ll be available at either our last pick or as a rookie. So I’d consider him at either of them.

I wouldn’t be overly surprised if the club is content with Sturt, Fyfe, Corbett and Erasmus as medium forward options - provided we add one of the smalls I mentioned. Ideally we’ll structure up better next year.

Walls basically said they have 15 players which are plug and play with great talent and character that they forget about this time of year however if one or any is there at our first pick they will pull the trigger. Also mentioned that they would be comfortable trading in a future pick and later pick this year if some club was after our pick 30 to allow us to trade up possibly into a first rounder next year as the KP crop appears deeper next year than this year, although he did qualify that can change dramatically year to year

Can anyone tell me if Toby McQuilken from South has nominated for the draft.
He is a quality player, maybe not what we require, but he has much more development in him. Also, now a seasoned player.
Would his size, or lack of it make him hard to select? Only 180 and 70 Kgs.

Born 10th of November?

He nominated.

The translation for this is that pick 30 is being spent on a defender. We are being conditioned. My guess is we are all up in the Gilbey.
