I am sure our trade is only going to happen if our target is still available at that pick. It sounds like COS may be available with our pick 10 anyway. So the trade may only happen if Curtin is still on the board.

Why do you think he's dropped from "top 2 in the draft" to "5th or 6th with Watson" to "GWS could trade 7 (effectively 9) to West Coast so they can have Curtin" to now, where we have "Geelong will take Curtin at 10"? Do you think all these teams have discovered a knock on his game all of a sudden?

This is not the weak draft some seem to think...There is plenty of depth in the talls/rucks. medium half backs, half forwards and small forwards and some decent medium utilities. Just not flush with mids

Bit weak I reckon

Definitely good for rucks and exceptional for top end talent

What’s the appeal with Charlie Edwards? I’ve seen his name pop up but don’t really know much about him? Is there a player comparison? Is he a player that can deliver x-factor?

For what its worth (given I've posted once before) but a close contact of mine at Melbourne has confirmed they'll take Windsor unless they can jump to Hawks pick at 4 to take Watson (which they don't hold out much hope for anymore)

He confirmed that Curtin is sliding because of the go home factor. Melbourne's recruiters are of the opinion that it's stronger in him than Jackson.

He gave me mail a couple of years ago that Melbourne's targets were Wilmot, Van Rooyen for their first pick and Conway and Howes for their second. They really wanted Wilmot.

He also said that Melbourne's opinion of Arlo Draper (which he didn't share with me until after the draft) was that he didn't work hard enough and didn't have a live and breathe footy personality.

Are we sure we will go for Goad? A lot of media speculation, but just feels very unlike us. I wonder if it's just because he's from SA and expected to be selected around our pick?
Not sure we value rucks enough to use a pick like 20 on one.

tend to agree. we had Moir train with us last pre season and bigman mentioned he didnt look out of place. NOBODY is linking us with Moir but just wonder whether when seeing his extrordinary talent levels first hand that we didnt decide then to take him this year.

I think his size and skill level

Hard one to judge and must admit haven’t seen enough of him given his best football was played at school level ( and some at Coates league level )

Edwards also has a bit of toe for a 191cm player

Let’s say there is a trade with GWS for 7 and it involves our F1. We can’t also give them 10, it should only involve 14.

Having said that I think it won’t come to it, no deal will be done.

Agree but twomey doesn’t normally get too worried about the SA factor and he has linked Goad to us a fair bit

No, obviously he's been considered by a number of teams and they're prioritising other players, which is exactly how drafts work.

Look, you might be right - but if that's the case, don't you think SOMEONE would have actually raised it in the media? They're desperate for literally anything to say ...

That’s not what he said, he said if they decide to trade back then it’s likely to be us, but they’ve got offers for future firsts from other clubs.

He’s not suggesting what they are leaning to.
