Florent not in the leadership group clearly means he’s being traded.

Or it means nothing. Some players are leaders with titles, others lead on field. Buddy has barely had a leadership title 80% of his career. Fans read way too much into these leadership things

Stop trolling. Heeney was in then got voted out - still with us and now he's back in the group.

Still don’t get having like 8 in a leadership group yet yeah you are right

Nope, it’s as clear as day.

Florent is being traded. Probably to Geelong for Pick 44 and a future 4th.

Shame, as I kinda liked him as a player.

As long as Logan stays in sweet

I don't think we can take anything from the second half of that game
Well we can take out that Horse considers Paddy an option up forward and Paddy has not declared that he will not play forward.

The ideal scenario is for us to trade in a top shelf FF who combines perfectly with Logan and McLean.

But …
If that doesn’t happen, we have other options.

Paddy could well be a top shelf forward. I guess he has demonstrated it yet but he was picked #1 in the draft as full forward and then his career was blighted by injury. Since then, he has matured, rebuilt his confidence, gotten his body healthy, adjusted to playing at AFL level again, learned the Swans game style etc and not had any more injuries. After another good reason he could be the perfect FF recruit. How amazing would that be?

I think it's less a case of whether Paddy could/should play forward, and more a case of whether we could/should change the back six/seven like that. There's a chemistry that group built over the course of last season that I think would be set back if we took Paddy out of that group and replaced him with someone else. They're already gonna have a few changes to deal with when Rampe and eventually Lloyd retire, but that just makes any unforced changes even more important to avoid.

When you consider where Tom was drafted, that pick is turning out to be genius level.

I don’t think anyone is talking seriously about this year. The question is next year - when Buddy and Reid retire and Gould has a breakout year as the next Reg.

Would that not be even worse?

So we will give he and his brother and the rest of the defensive group two years to work together and build their chemistry, before switching things up and moving Paddy up forward?

And then Paddy will be 28 and have to adjust to a new position again?

With all due respect I can't say I see the logic in it...

If this happened one of my St Kilda supporting friends might actually kill me.

I reckon two x McCartins makes the back 6 slow. Just my opinion and probably unpopular, but what ever.
I think it was Harley (or horse, Gardinar, an assistant coach??? cant remember) that recently said Blakey is earmarked to play as an intercepting defender. Add to that Gould (who's stinging for a game) Francis (who could be anything from a flop to an A-grader) and Edwards (nearly 20yo, and the tallest, heaviest and quickest of the lot) and I reckon theres more room for movement down back.
Our back 6 will change over the next few years.. As you say Rampe and Lloyd will retire. Fox will be 30 by the time of round 1, so his days are numbered too. Our premiership window is open and will stay open (fingers crossed) for another 5ish years so theres plenty of time to adjust to any changes.

should Paddy play up forward? We'll see. Theres plenty of arguments both for and against
Could we lose Paddy from the back 6? Absolutely

Well we can take out that Horse considers Paddy an option up forward

You absolutely cannot take into account what Horse did in garbage time position wise. We were so ****ed in the 4th that Horse was just throwing shit at the wall to see if we could force a miracle.

Also Geelong shifted SDK forward just so he could kick a goal. It wouldn't be too far to assume that Horse was doing the same with Paddy
