Whately has a very, very good mask. He's really well presented and speaks well. And he appears to be very balanced at first glance.

However, as soon as you get over his surface level charm and listen to him for a while, you realize he's a Geelong moron and that he's biased and plays favourites. The fact that he loves Robbo speaks volumes about his character.

I just had to endure more of him gushing about Nick bloody Daicos. My god enough already. He's not the comps best player. I can't believe I agreed with Robbo that Nick isn't the best player.

Gotta learn my lesson and stear clear of this show.

Rubbish , look at that goal he kicked last week through traffic and the interesting thing that makes him better as in that play he had high contact and stayed upright , not like turds like Ginnivan and Weightman who would buckle at the knees .

I never said he was bad. But he isn't the best in the league. Pies midfield makes him look a lot better than he is at this stage in his career

Daicos is excellent imo but he's also currently playing in a team perfectly suited and set up to maximise his impact upon games. Not dissimilar to Dustin Martin in the great Richmond years where they did everything to maximise his strengths and cover for his weaknesses. I'm not saying Daicos has glaring weaknesses but he's certainly not shown he's the most devoted defensive runner and Collingwood cover for it just like Richmond covered for Martin's defensive weaknesses. I'd say someone like Clayton Oliver

are better overall players right now than Daicos because they have shown that they can be great in teams that cover for them or not. In great teams and bad teams, they've both shown themselves to be tremendous and the amount of asked of them is extreme. I haven't see Daicos demonstrate that yet, not to say he won't, but right now he's only in his 2nd year playing in a prelim finalist and now unbackable premiership favourite. He's on a very good wicket and I'd be interested to see how he'd go in a poor team. Not his fault of course, but I'd stick with Oliver or Bontempelli personally.

I hate to say it but im on the wrong thread for this and as much as i hate them but they are good to watch

I think that's the problem - the team around a player has a big say in how that individual performs. I tend not to judge players until I've seen how they've gone at both ends of the ladder - in a contender, and in a cellar dweller.

For example as good as he's been so far in his career, this was the year I needed to see from Gulden to know that he's the real deal. He'd never known being in the AFL in a side that wasn't good prior to this year. To see him in a struggling team, standing up and performing all the same (arguably better) is just so pleasing.

Some people should consider the point whether it is Daicos who is improving the Pies rather than the the Pies who are improving Daicos.
