Mod notice after Mr Bob did a lot of annoying work in moving days of posts out of here. As we are heading into offseason, this thread is for 2023 list management only. Getting upset on previous trades can be taken to the vent thread. Lets keep this thread on track in the part of the year it's actually relevant

At the risk of stones being thrown at me, you'd have a choice of putting Cox up forward or McGovern. I know some hate the idea of Cox going up forward but I've always been a fan. Now imagine adding Pickett this year as well

If Brennan Cox says Adelaide has offered me a godfather offer and put their first round picks on the table this year and next with McGovern potentially available as a free agent it would force a consideration there.

Do we have to do this again? Every fricken year its someone else.

If he leaves the whole losing Logue thing is going to be an absolute killer.

I think you could turn Cox into Pickett and JVR quite comfortably, but I'd prefer to have him signed up long term by the middle of this season to take that off the table.
Have to do it, he has more AA seasons in him and is one of the best defenders in the comp despite his recent performances. Besides, if we lose him than others may follow as they are a tight bunch back there.

C'mon, JVR is signed up for like 3 years and Pickett is a ****ing gun anyway, absolutely no chance you can do that haha

If WC want him to move on to get the compo and he wants to stay in the state, I can think of worse KPPs to plug and play for a couple of years if it doesnt cost you anything
I'm usually quite positive if there's rumours of us chasing opposition players but Mitch McGovern is a massive spud.

His brother being a gun seems to have massively inflated how people saw him 3-4 years ago. Then they saw just how rubbish he actually is. Now he's played a few good games as a defender he's a gun again. A tip - he's still a spud who's had a good month or so.

I'm talking about Jeremy McGovern haha, yes, Mitch is a gigantic spud

Cox isn't a big enough name for the Crows to do that trade without upsetting their supporter base. They were suggesting Cox for a 2nd rounder last year.

How many $$?
It wouldnt be much needed given his latest injury, like sub 500k I'd think. If we wanted a competitive KPP to tide us over the next few years, he'd be the perfect one. I'll back our injury guys to keep him on the park for the most part. Surely WC dont want to keep him given where they are at

Jeremy is 31 in a week an a half. Unrestricted free agent. At this stage, I can see WC following that Hawthorn model of letting the older guys go to give their spot to younger players instead of playing them for another two or three years - but in that is the opportunity.

Three years on $350,000 will probably be more money total than WC will have on the table, and if not, good luck to WC with that.

Yeah you d think that’s the way they SHOULD go but they won’t .
Nissy would quit before he see the likes of mcgovern play out his days at freo .
Waaaay too pig headed for that .

In fact I highly doubt they ll tap any of their veterans on the shoulder (maybe gaff and only cause he’s from Victoria)hawthorn style.

Their arrogance won’t allow it

I agree with fnerd. By all accounts Jeremy and Mitch are dead keen to play together. I can honestly see West Coast getting Mitch before I can see Jeremy moving.

Honestly though - what youth is missing out?

They're playing all their top line young talent - they just don't have much.

What’s really concerning imo is that none of the “gun youth” they played last year are playing this year.

Outside of Ginbey their youth looks as bad as any team in the league. Allen and Ginbey are probably their only decent players under the age of 27. It’s grim and I’m going to love it.

Just signed NicNat for two years... brilliant list management.

Shh. Don’t tell them. Apparently yesterday was a sensational effort, and their youth a shining light.

DGB would have to be an option if Cox slide off to Adelaide. Wouldn’t be worth much now either.
Use that currency to get Kozzie in, package up the remaining picks and find some local talent, or Maybe there’s enough left over for Georgiades
