Mod notice after Mr Bob did a lot of annoying work in moving days of posts out of here. As we are heading into offseason, this thread is for 2023 list management only. Getting upset on previous trades can be taken to the vent thread. Lets keep this thread on track in the part of the year it's actually relevant

First year of WAFL. Shows promise. Medium risk, high reward. Big yes from me

How the **** is the Mid Season Draft a medium risk?

These are literally rookie picks. At best three or four of these guys would go in the National Draft at years end and they wouldn’t necessarily be the guys that are picked early in the MSD. There’s far more footy between the MSD and seasons end than the start of the season and the MSD so a lot would change in that time.

It’s not like we’re picking up Richard Tambling ahead of Lance Franklin if we **** up a MSD pick. We might pick Dillon O’Reilly ahead of Michael Frederick though (which we did btw).

Only real risk if if they aren’t worthy of being on our list next year. If you’re unsure it’d be why you don’t take the second pick tbh.

Our club is too conservative we don't have a ruthless attitude to anything on or off the field.

WC would need to push Liam Ryan or Jamie Cripps into season ending status wouldn't they?

By the time the midseason draft comes along, nine of their current injury list should be back, Nic Nat and McGovern just a month away.

They could push Shannon Hurn into retirement in the next four games, but that's iffy.

Fremantle had a spot open before the season started and I am expecting Matt Taberner to end up on our inactive list for 2023 before too long too. That's two picks in the midseason draft.

Ahead of Fremantle, based off that assumption that players who will be available second half of the year won't get ruled out...

Hawthorn, Richmond, North (LTI- George), Fremantle.

Based off the assumption that we don't lose more games than the other three, you mean.

The risk is he has not been in a professional environment for long and is he willing to make the sacrifices.

I think he would have a lower chance of playing afl than some other players, but a higher chance of playing 200 games.

Ps. I hope he can jump

Granger Barrass must be shite or he’s already out the door.
Get him in, put Cox Forward.
2024 forward line looks wayyy better

I probably went early on this a year or two ago but he’s shown absolutely nothing to suggest he’ll be an AFL player

What has happened to Treacy ? Is he on the out or not fit or not AFL standard or still to young .I had real high hopes for him

Moneyball …. Etc
As Joao says he looked amazing as a junior. Have to hope it’s been a development problem with hawks being so consistently bad.
At worst he becomes an extra depth down back.
Saying that as id like to see Draper tried forward and assume this is the Jammers last season

Also follows the ⚓️ on insta. Doesn’t that mean he’s a lock ?
