What would be a realistic draft pick for TDK? Uncontracted, Limited exposed form. Yet sells plenty of hope, gives glimpses and an AA brother which I think clouds (but assists us) peoples perception of his value.
I am thinking 13 to 18 range. Happy with the near end, disappointed at the far end of that range

If we lose Tom de Koning then we should target Hayden McLean from the Swans. Out of contract this year and a Victorian.

Plays more as a KPF that can assist in the ruck, which is probably better for structure. Not a worldbeater but will do his role well as the foil for Harry & Charlie up forward and Pittonet in the ruck.

Would probably cost a mid/late 2nd and would be on less salary than TDK for a similar team function without the huge 'upside'.
Big yes! Have always been a fan of him and with Amartey re-signing, Logan McDonald + Buddy they might be willing to let him go...

Google, lol. Check out their take on Harry and twin brother Ben's birthplace. Apparently Harry born in Warragul, Ben in the UK.
Never trust google.

When I worked as a firie in state government, they changed the name of the bushfire emergency response unit to 'Forest Fire Management', under the acronym of 'FFM'.

Try googling that...it'll make your hair curl when you pull up some of the images 🤣

Slow start for the day, and brain fuzzy.... Just trying to remember observations from others posters, but some questions:

1) IF TDK is going, realistically who are the options, and then what would be the draft pick? (I'm really wondering about the draft pick)

2) IF TDK is going, who realistically could be a replacement ruckman (I believe it needs to be a ruckman already in AFL system - I don't think Lemmey and O'Keefe are ready)? And what would that cost (draft picks)

3) IF we get Camporeale twins (I'm assuming yes), and IF we trade future first for a first this year, realistically who are the options for pick swap, and what draft picks would we get?

Therefore, what could be our draft hand this year?

3) Suns or giants

For me.

1. I’d be gutted if my club gave up a first rounder for TDK so I think if we can get a first rounder we have done brilliantly well. Personally think it’ll be a second and future second from a good side.
(All depends on his form from now on though)

2. Although he offers nothing forward I’m going to guess Flynn as a FA.

3. I don’t think we will be able to get a pick swap. GC will need points and I really can’t see why the other clubs would bother. Best bet would be to find a second rounder this year and add it to our future first to GC which imo isn’t worth it.
Another possibility would be to turn TDK into two second round picks and try and manufacture a trade with GC. Possibly on draft night a trade with the Bulldog’s if Croft gets a bid

There are a number of clubs pursuing TDK which assists us, absolutely no point us losing him for a 2nd round pick.

We will only lose him for a attractive offer eg 1st round pick.
l still personally hope he stays, but l think the fact he has not resigned over the break is indicating more chance of him going to Geelong.

A current and future second round pick.
I think every side would be interested in someone like TDK but only at a certain price. It would take a side who make a preliminary final for their first rounder to be in play imo, otherwise it’ll be too high. Best chance there would be Geelong.

I hope he stays, i think anyone we bring in to replace him is a fair chance of being a flop and will cost decent money. I hope we offer TDK a fair contract and ge accepts it.

Pretty certain Carlton would know right now the likely outcome and clubs like Geelong it would be made very clear that if we are losing him a 1st rounder must be part of the deal.

We would be crazy to lose him for a 2nd rounder, we have put 4-5 years of development into him and his best is in front of him.

And if Geelong miss finals you think they are going to want to part ways with a top 10 pick? Even if they make finals they could easily finish with a pick inside 12.
On current form he Isn’t worth anything like that.

lf you are heavily chasing a player like Geelong are they clearly value him, as said the most likely outcome would be a 1st rounder to us and a f2 or f3 going back.

Do you think Jack Bowes was worth a early pick last year?
Bowes? Bowes gained an early pick for them he cost GC an early pick to get rid of him.

Pretty sure TDK is playing 1st ruck next year, whoever is offering that opportunity is where he'll be.(it's not about the money)
Probably too late, but that's where we should be playing him. Within 18 months he'll be well in front of Pitto as a marking, goal scoring ruckman.(and a lot less injury prone)

Unless it’s for a big pay rise, I don’t see why TDK would leave.

We are or still should be a club that is on the right track and pushing for finals.
He was/is a Carlton fan, along with the rest of the family.
He plays a position/multiple positions we have a need in.
Despite our current position, we are a big club.
We have good facilities.
He plays regularly.

Tom stays

I'd prefer him to stay as well, although it doesn't look that way right now reading the tea leaves.

Pure speculation, but possibly we're weighing up what offers are coming through before we make a decision. If he's only prepared to sign a 2 year deal to take him through to free agency, maybe the club would prefer to let him go if there was a decent offer on the table from a rival club, rather than face the likelihood he'll walk anyway in a couple of years.

Get the deal done now so we can get a good draft pick through the door now rather than in a couple of years.

Cook openly said in his recent interview on 3AW that TDK wants to stay - but it may just be the terms of his contract preventing this. Who knows?

I am wondering the same thing.
His management announced before the season started that he would delay any contract talks.
There has to be a reason that we are maybe not aware of.
Money is only thing that seems to make sense of him wanting to leave.
It is pretty disappointing that he is not committing and may leave.

So has Mitch McGovern actually re-signed at the club or is it still just a twitter rumour (I have noticed that Ian Prendercast account has had pretty solid mail on in the past)

Ok - explains why when I had a fire on my property two chicks turned up.
