Hope Voss tries something new with Cripps to get him or others into the game.

Collingwood is probably going to kick our teeth in like Adelaide did if we let them pick and choose who they want to play off Cripps.

If the opposition MC get to pick somebody they want to be BOG by playing off Cripps for the 5th time in a row I'll be....sad I guess?
Cripps opponent has been BOG the last 2 weeks.. He needs help, but also needs to play accountable when it’s required.

“Can’t believe I decided to snap the ball on my left when I was in scope for a regulation drop punt on my right. Even more so I can’t believe that after watching two of my mates choke and kick the fat side of the ball….I choked and did the same. You’d reckon I would have been able to concentrate and make sure I didn’t do that. Pathetic of me really. Would have made the game all square and really boosted our in field spirits. Not long after they kicked 2 and we went in 3 down with our heads dropped at half time. I need to be better.”

To be honest all that would result from him doing that is the media and others digging in their claws in deeper.

I've been beyond frustrated with his form this season but anything he says beyond the most generic PR filtered lines is going to get warped by the media beyond belief. Only apology we need from Cripps is him getting back to his best before our season is over.

I was kidding. I think he said what he should have said although I always think referring to the club as ‘work’ is tone deaf but whatever.

And agree, thr talking he needs to do is on field. He needs to hurt his opponent by scoring and kicking much better. Then they won’t be so inclined to run off.

Cripps opponent has earned the most coaches vote in all our losses this season so far. I don't disagree with anything you said though.

God I hope we have a plan for this weeks game.

First few rounds Cripps was the forward/mid we needed, he was playing a similar role to Dusty in his prime. We seem to scared to not have him on the ball.

You'd think a team stacked with onballers could afford the one who can play another position to go and play that other position but not to be.

I think we need to stick with Curnow and McKay deep all game. Out of the goal square, making defenders nervous.

Play DeKoning at CHF. Send Cripps forward a lot and play him CHF.

TBH there is a lot about Cripps that makes me think, in another life, or at another club he could have developed as a high up CHF. What is a CHF who play's high up? They are pretty much a midfielder who is tall and can take a mark which is what Cripps is.

Instead of using Curnow and McKay as this use Cripps. Give DeKoning a go. Hand the middle over to the others and see how good they are and be a little less predictable in there.
i do wonder if the interrupted preseasons to Walsh, Hewett and Kennedy have affected our ability to actually unlock crippa forward of centre. Perhaps that’s why harry is floating up the field more often and we’re playing slow build up. Now that they seem to be almost at full match fitness maybe it’ll change… there were signs of it against the doggies. I did notice crippa and walshy forward of centre a lot more often. Hopefully we do bring in TDK to help out aerially. If we do then I reckon the coaches are surely cooking something up.

How to Beat the Filth
We need to win contests or kill the contest and create restarts
To do that I think we need a few tactical and personnel changes
We need our forwards obviously to take their opportunities but I dont want our smalls being outmarked when we bomb it forward from contests, this has to be a focus, mark it or halve it

Defense
- small defender maybe like Boyd (not ready but likely needed) or they back in Cincotta again to do that role, but reports were not great
Midfield - i think Sidebottom on the wing could be taken by Ed, we need these contests in the middle of the ground halved against the filth, Kennedy and Cripps to rest forward occasionally and get more run into the middle with more of Cerra, Walsh and maybe Durdin going thru the middle
Ruck - Pittonet 80%, I would like TDK but i haven’t seen enough to warrant, JSOS therefore as 2nd ruck, any chance Young does it inside D50 and Gov shifts to his man, I wouldnt like SOS rucking against Cox in D50
Forwards - our small forwards allow too many intercept marks. I really believe we need smalls like Owies/Durdin to not be the 40m option out of defense/contests, it has to be the likes of Harry or JSOS or Kennedy/Cripps when resting forward. I want more marking power up forward and three of them 40m off contests and at least 30m apart
I think we need our mids resting forward, winning more of the hurried kick forward contests or splitting contests, Motlop spot therefore to be replaced by more grunt.

In: Ed Curnow, Boyd
Out: Mots, Cincotta

B: Gov Weiters Newman
HB: Docherty Young Saad
C: Ed Curnow Cripps Acres
HF: Cotts Harry JSOS
F: Durdin Charlie Owies

R:pitts Hewett Cerra

Int: Walsh (M), Boyd (D), Hollands (W, F), Kennedy (M, F)

Sub: Kemp or Binns or Dow or Cincotta
i think Kennedy was our best sub so far, get a midfielder on and maybe he could offer something late in a game

I'm sorry I love Ed but his time is done. He had 0 impact on Saturday, don't understand why Hollands was subbed as I think it was probably his best game for the year. If we drop anyone I would get rid of either Durdin ( I'd like to see his stats for the game) or Motlop apart from the tackle also 0 impact. Don't get the Cincotta theory, thought he was ok without being great, but he wasn't Robinson Crusoe there. I'd get Hewitt out of the guts and plonk Saad in there, don't know where he plays. maybe HFF.
