I see exactly where you're coming from. I just expect to see an article next year when he is on another list of them talking about that they know his deficiencies but they focused on what he is good at rather than what he is not and worked to his strengths

Agree with this sentiment.

I suspect he'll have a breakthrough season like Brodie did for Freo last year before sinking back down to the pack in the year or so following.

Doubly so if he has a chip on his shoulder like Brodie did and stops being Mr Nice Guy.

The one before he got selected.

He has averaged double digit clangers this year according to Ralph so even if we account for toxic ball use weather it doesn't paint a good picture. Not every game has had poor conditions, surely.
While he can get a bit cute with the odd handball and kick, it's a much scrappier affair at that level if you're trying to dispose in congestion.

I think the stats he's quoting as clangers are actually just turnovers, which includes forced turnovers. Either way, neither statistical category accounts for a team mate standing still instead of making an appropriate lead at or away from the ball carrier.
That’s a great story but just wrong.
VFL stats vfl.aflmstats.com
P Dow avg 31.7 disposals, 4.6 tackles, 16.9 handballs, 14.8 kick- so yeah avg 32
No game this season has he had 35- had 36 his last full game, 17 kicks. So how does he have 19 clangers??
We’re are u finding the clanger stats? Best of my knowledge there no clanger stats kept at vfl- same with disposal efficiency.
So are u just misinformed or deliberately teeing off on a bloke & making it up the stats?
Clangers by definitions are unforced errors plus free kicks against, but yeah I'm struggling to see that as being an accurate stat.
The highlights were vs Swans in Sydney.
Is there a link to this?
