Eagles have had better results since being belted by Sydney. Or teams aren't turning up against them. A few weeks back I saw our VFL side defeated by Williamstown and I thought that Williamstown looked a better side than the Eagles. IMO theres been plenty of times this season where VFL sides would have beaten them so having a few players out for us should not matter.

We have some of the best players in the VFL to bring in to this team such as Dow, Binns Carroll etc so we should still do well here.

B: Kemp Weitering Cincotta
HB: Saad McGovern Newman
C: Acres Docherty Cottrell
HF: Cuningham Silvagni Fogarty
F: Martin Curnow Motlop
OB: DeKoning Dow Walsh
IC: Cowan Hewett Binns Carroll
SUB: Durdin
EM: Owies Hollands Marchbank

OUT: Boyd McKay Cripps Cerra
IN: Dow Durdin Cowan Binns Carroll

That's how I would have gone but we have gone differently.

Interesting to see who the Sub will be. Doubt it will be Binns as I don't think we will debut players as the sub. Marchbank is probably likely as he can replace a defender if Cowan blows up or we want to send someone like Saad into the midfield. Honey Does not have the form. Young is a likely one as well as he can be ruck or key position cover. IMO it's probably Young.

West Coast would destroy Williamstown, even in their current state.

It’s a crazy comparison.
At the time it wasn't, Eagles were the worst AFL team I think I had ever seen and I remember Fitzroy. They were that level. A bottom side with a lot of injuries. Which pretty made them vastly their reserves side. The 200 against a few weeks showed it.

IMO thats a weaker team than the one we’ve picked.
- Hollands is a better option than a debutant (Binns).
- I’d play Ed over Carroll who hasn’t played a league game for over a year.

Also Owies is out for 1-2 weeks so he certainly wont be an emergency.

Finally I reckon no VFL side would get within 10 goals of an AFL side.

Looking at the midfields we will need to be scoring a bit from rebound this week instead of the stoppage dominant scoring we have been doing -- good game for us to mix up our scoring avenues -- will be hard work should outwork them
We were already doing that last week for chunks of the game. Good that we have it in our kit now.

The question now is simply how much will Kelly, Shuey, and Gaff throw their weight around with each other to play off.
I kike the idea of Honey as sub. Can provide burst, strength over the ball and accurate kicking at goal.
Since we are going in a little small, he can replace whichever smaller type that is performing the poorest in the second half.
Honey has been in horrific form, and while the extra confidence around him might help, there's more value in Marchbank and Binns playing, as both will seek to help set the agenda.

Honey just coasts around lately.

Here's Crazy V up against the rest of the MC. lol

Maybe Voss saw dow not as an inclusion, so he snuck in that way.

Honeys form in the 2s has been good over the last month unlike when he was promoted after getting less than 10 possessions in the 2s.

don't really care who gets it done. win every week we get to mix it with the big boys.

injuries not ideal, hope for not too much effect on long term form. good to have some dipping their toes in a bit more afl though.
ed is solid enough to pick in this situation, wonder if he might get a chance to play as an accumulator. time to shine dow.

good practice run for the forward half in case of harry out long enough to miss finals (if we're there)

This has me very concerned, very light in the midfield and WCE are desperate for a win.
Very nervous of a boil over.
There is nothing to suggest that WCE are desperate for a win. They would happily take one if they were being handed out as part of a promotion at the local day spa.
Otherwise they have put the que in the rack. We bring the mindset of the last month we win comfortably.

Yes it was.

Full time professional athletes vs part time footballers.

Williamstown lost to a Werribee side with no AFL experience in it by nearly 100 points earlier in the year.

Even this sub par West Coast side would destroy them, even the week they conceded 200.
They would have been closest last year when West Coast had 10+ WAFL players out there, but even then they would have been beaten.

Classic case of underestimating how difficult it is to be a pro, and overstating how poor the average reserve footballer actually is in comparison.

Honey was in the bests in the last VFL game and his form has been building prior to that.

Id like to see Marchy get a gig as sub - could cover back, forward or even a wing rotation if needed
Marchbank sub I would like to see. New recruit deserves a run.
Definitely not. Guy needs to play. Let him play full vfl games and prove to himself let alone everyone else that he can consistently stay on the park

Not sure why they’d be any more desperate to win v us than any other game.

Play this game 20 times, we’d win 19 times.
