So with the outs (and seemingly impending outs) our players are NOT suited to the new gamestyle.

How do we make it sustainable?

We were already 12 games deep when we tried to do this. I'd suggest the gamestyle and execution prior to this is seeing players tire out.

Hardly alone in the league on that front, so it's been great that we've found a spark, and it's good that we're being cautious now.

That was the whole point of my posts at the start of this thread, which saw people dummy spitting and/or laughing at me. 🙃

If Martin comes out, surely Young comes in, leaving Jack forward permanently.

You could be right it is all a bit speculative ...but...Jack played his best game ever last week doing the ruck /forward rotation - very little pressure to change that set up ..

forward fifty defensive pressure is crucial to the whole play of the game in the forward half caper though - if it is Martin ( or Cuningham ) Young doesn't help that effort...

McGovern is the obvious hammy down back - and Marchbank the best like for like replacement...

although arguments can be made for Young as the rotation...

I just hope the balance is right.

Heaps of confidence about winning, but the embarrassment of losing - not only to other supporters, media... but also because our charge at finals becomes extremely hard, and the lead into collingwood even more difficult.

We are guessing at the one or two outs, but clearly Martin, McGovern and Saad would be the obvious candidates.

As you point out, Jack pays his best footy with some time up the ground. I would seriously consider Young and Marchbank back with Kemp giving us a change up and some X factor forward. Not great decimating structures, but West Coast have been more chaotic going forward this season. Most of their entries are angled from the wings. We have the benefit of a handful of quality defensive oriented players patrolling our wings. Acres, Docherty, Hollands, Cottrell, Fogarty and E.Curnow should have those avenues covered.

You've got to not play blokes who arent able to play, but I would be quite nervous resting so many not so much this week, but teams had a horrid record after the bye, it might not give us the best opportunity to beat collingwood if we have 5 or 6 coming in cold

Continuity is #1 factor in maintaining playing standards for a team - unfortunately it looks like the side cant get a decent run ( again) as far as this goes.

We can make arguments for all sorts of changes - but each change compounds up to even more lack of continuity...fortunately this is WC - and I say fortunately only because they are so badly out of form but already Carlton's winning mix sees - but I am more concerned about what comes after

Kennedy Owies Boyd Cerra Cripps McKay and pick your poison out of Martin, Saad McGovern out....

2 longer term (Kennedy and McKay) 2 shorter but still significant ( Owies and Boyd) and add factor X's like Martin/Saad/McGovern ...serious damage to momentum established- in the context of having to be at the team's best to play Collingwood/Saints/Melbourne/Suns and GWS....

Just when you think you are seeing some sunshine....it all goes goes to S**t as far as player availability goes.

Don't recall too many saying it was no good but it can still do with some improvement. It's still not the finished product, to me anyway. The thing that makes me a little nervous is the reliance on a few fragile bodies, let's hope that they hold up.

Saying that the list was outright 'no good' was as silly as those insisting that Voss couldn't coach. This is what happens when people lose their minds over stuff. I'm just glad that the club stayed strong because that's what matters, not what anybody says here.
Lots were saying it and blaming the players which was stupid. The list is top 4.

And it took Voss being on the verge of sacking to make a change.

With Ross Lyon we are top 4 and contending, no doubt.

Nah, let's not do this. The players and coaches shared in the blame as far as I'm concerned and as far as Ross Lyon goes...please let's forget the nonsense and enjoy what you see unfolding in front of you.

Who said the list is top 4?

Where has this been reported?

Your opinion only

Voss/club have made it very clear at the start of the year, that this list is far from the finished product, so not sure how anyone can claim it was a top 4 list this year, let alone last year

Depends what you’re basing that on. For the age/experience/talent profile of the list the window started last year. Couple years to go.

Prime years started this year and yes, we should be making the 8 this year with the list we have

But it's not a flag list just yet
