Big game for our half forwards.

Reality is, unless we get a couple of them starting to have consistent 20+ disposal and goal(s) games, we are not going to become a side that plays any meaningful part in finals.

I'm looking squarely at Fisher. You've been in the system long enough now. 6 possession first quarter followed by 1 possession 3 quarters is not good enough and it firmly needs to be put on him to be better

Our slow crab-like exits from defence does put extra pressure on the half forwards, we need to be bold and step on the accelerator around the middle of the ground.

Could you name all the non KPF and non 3rd talls forwards that average 20+ disposals and more than a goal a game

Will make it easy for you, 1 player did it in 2022, Dylan Moore

I've been catching up on reading this thread and I'm not sure if some have had a few drinks before posting comments, or I need a few after reading them... maybe it's both...
You have the authority now, 65. Thwow them to the gwound.....

Didnt say average, I said consistent.

And Fisher as the example, he is capable and there is a strong correlation in him doing so and us winning

Btw are you aware the majority of your posts are quite condescending in nature?

I really rate Leigh Montagna as an analyst … he just totally exposed our lack of dare/confidence using the ball.
Won’t beat any of the better teams playing that style - just too predictable.
We have Saad and Doc up back who can be booming kicks, yet we never kick out more than a dinky 20 m to the pocket, frustrates the hell out of me.

Consistent as in average? Pretty much the same thing, and again 1 player of his type averaged those numbers, Fisher not that far off either

Btw are you aware the majority of your posts are quite pessimistic in nature?

I like the optimists in here, sadly when it comes to this game, to our form of late, to the IQ of our players, to team selection, to our entrees into the forward 50, to our small forwards, the magicians in our team (the ones that keep performing disappearing acts) and to the loss of Hewitt ….. I only see dark clouds, very dark clouds.

Cats by 50+ points, over by quarter time.

We will be bullied as we always are. Our boys are men but the reality is they are still children in their demeanour and actions.

Until this changes, if it ever will we will never be serious contenders.

I will be there giving them my support as it’s the club and not the players I give my loyalty to.

Go Blues ….. please, please, please prove me wrong!

Could it be as simple as they frequently have nobody to kick it long to?

I don't see games live but, at least from a TV aspect, we seem to have an awful lot of players in our defensive half when the oppo attack. I think they now call this a zone defence but pretty sure when Rocket and Roos were doing it was called flooding.

It's not that bleak mate...

Probably a good time to get the Cats, though the round one loss for them gives it a bit more meaning. I'd love to see H & C stretch their defense and a bit more daring from the stoppages. Think we're a good chance, 1 1/2 wins from that start to the year would be a great result.
