We need an extra midfielder. Player Fisher through the centre to break lines.

In: Dow, Fisher
Out: Cerra (inj.), Cottrell

B: Marchbank---------------McGovern----------------Newman

H: Kemp---------------------Weitering------------------Saad

C: Docherty------------------Cripps--------------------Acres

H: Martin--------------------C.Curnow---------------Cuningham

F: Owies---------------------De Koning---------------Fogarty

Foll: Pittonet, Dow, Hewett

Bench: Cincotta, Hollands, Fisher, Motlop

Sub: Cottrell
Don’t mind that idea - Cunningham and fog already in there. Acres and cotters come across as does doc if he’s not in the middle already.

It really the CBs we need worry about - fish could be extra legs - or a great sub possibly ?

Going to be a challenge this one but another test passed is one step closer to finals and here was have an 8 point game. A small forward line and a good backline will hopefully make up for the midfield outs.

Pretty confident that will be the team:

Newman Weitering Kemp
Saad McGovern Cincotta
Acres Cripps Hollands
Cuningham Martin Motlop
Owies Curnow DeKoning
Pittonet Docherty Hewett
Marchbank Dow Cottrell Fogarty
???

No idea who will be the sub. Fisher, had a lot of it in the VFL, not sure we will see him back though, his tackling and chasing have never been good and that's what we area all about now. Has he bought in? Binns, I don't think we will debut a player as a sub but he is the best player and option. Cowan, I don't think it will be a back and his last game was a bit of a disappointing one, still developing. Lochie O'Brien, same as Fisher, probably not. Young, probably not a tall and there is no form there. Ed, got to stop picking Ed, he's done and on form no. Plowman, I wouldn't have thought so. Honey not doing enough. Jack Carroll. I think it might be him. Think we may go with a mid. Best player is clearly Binns but again, I think we have a team rule, no debutants as sub. But I'd like to see it. Could see him coming on with the pace off the game and just racking it up.

It's actually not a bad side. IMO if your fill ins play well then you don't miss much or drop off much. Looking at Dow, Docherty on the ball, Our smaller forward line. Cincotta more of a responsibility. I like it. Huge opportunity for these names.

Saints, Saw the Hawks put up a fight and they responded. They do play the effort and pressure game. Lyon has tried to model them on Collingwood but they just aren't as good. Could be getting some players back. I expect they might actually show up and bring a fair bit of heat, at least for a while so this could be interesting.

Hope to see Marchbank, Kemp and Cincotta take another step. Hollands to blitz it again on a wing. Our small forwards to be just too good and too quick and apply a heap of pressure. Cripps and Hewett to dominate the inside contests and Docherty to have another big game. Dow to get off the chain with some big clearances, break aways and goal assists. Our intercepting defenders just too good as is the run and rebound game. Jack Martin to once again get under the radar. Carlton by 4 goals in a challenging game putting them in the box seat for finals.

For myself and Little Dirty, this game represents one which we can lose, they have matched up well against us for over a decade, yes they used to dance all over our graves when the Dark Lord called the shots, but trust me their hatred of our club is deep, all the way back to the 70's and 80's when we would smash them twice a year for 15 years; how our old players used their club as a retirement top up fund, how Jezza turned to them when he walked out of Royal Parade as a Premiership Coach and how they thoroughly enjoyed the embarrassment it caused to we true believers. It would be like Nick Daicos turning down the big contract and requesting a trade to the Baggers instead!!!
I know I'm banging on historical, but it still resonates with every Sainter I meet, and I married one.........
Worst weekend in our house every time we play, has caused riffs in the family, not cheering goals, extended periods of silence, and months long droughts of sex (just joking there!!! only a couple of weeks....).
To make matters worse this week, Little Dirty is playing at 3.20 Sunday at Russell Square, so it's either the radio or on pause on tele with the car radio playing 3BA (yuk, JJJ my pref)
So that's my Sunday , hopefully Little Dirty kicks the winner for the Mounties and they get to sing their song, because it starts " Da Da Da Da Da......"

I’ll come right out and state this - if we can’t beat Aints this week we just don’t deserve to play finals.

This is a team that in the past 2 weeks has battled to the death to beat Roos (Roos lost to WC its next game) and were hardly scintillating v Hawks last week. Sure they have some key players back but they shouldn’t be the game changers.

On form, even with key players out, we win 3-5 goals. We are way better than the team that lost by 20 pts to them earlier in the year - just ask the Pies!

Only if Aints want finals more do they beat us. After last years listless capitulation against them, which arguably cost us finals, we can’t let this happen again.

Statement game for us, a game we must treat as a mini final, we just have to cope with it to be a true 8 team this year.
Saints get King, Membrey and Hill back. It is a different proposition to the team that just beat the Roos

According to Lyon Membrey will play. King a maybe.

Sharman should play too and obviously Caminiti overturned at the tribunal so suddenly they might have all their tall forwards to choose from, just in time for us of course.

Play as many talls as you want at Marvel watch the ball come out of the forward line at a million miles per hour.

King has troubled Weitering before but if his shoulder is not 100% hope he does play. Weitering will have a field day pushing him around taking marks. King's big advantage is his height with his overhead reach.

Hill comes in to play wing does he? Us being a physical side. Acres one of the leagues better wingers and Cottrell and Hollands running machines, would not want to be underdone.

Membry, McGovern, Kemp and Marchbank fit this matchup alright.

We are a down on speed around the ball a little. Should have plenty of grunt. Saints will have a go, we just need to get the job done.

Solid games out of TDK up forward, Dow etc and we do it well I feel.

Yep, regardless of who Saints bring back we just beat a full strength Collingwood (minus Bobby Hill) so we should be confident. No Cerra sucks but we didn't have him in the second half and held onto our lead.

Not too worried if King plays...coming back from injury, not doing contact drills and hasn't been in great form this year. Weitering at the top of his game.

The Hill and Sinclair combo have carved us up before...but we just held Collingwood's run. Wouldn't mind giving Cotts the job of minding him.

We all fear Membrey lol but he did only kick 1 goal against us earlier this year. I don't trust Kemp on him tbh, but confident in Gov or Marchbank.

Nope Cotts starts.

Think Fish may be done

If we're going back in history to judge the ethics of our respective clubs....

Do go on. Maybe you can point to the dwarf burning, Maybe the st kilda school girl. How about Jack Steven and friends prescription drugs? Lets not forget Milne...
