Seems a bridge too far with the players missing, especially Gov as it all starts from our more mobile defence.

A win here would truly be meritorious.

If injuries ultimately cost us a finals spot, that's on us as we should have banked more wins when we did have most of our players available.

Think we might need to make a stand as we wont get much back the week after, and even if we do, hamstrung players would have to be nervous about opening up on speed/effort/mentally in what is a much harder game vs Dees.

This is a pressure game and maybe our best chance given GC is away. We simply have to do it this weekend or the panic sets in.

Looks like we are going in with a lot of smalls in and around the forward line so expect to see a heap of pressure applied once the ball hits the turf down that end of the ground.
I don't mind us playing that way as long as they all run back to defend as well.
It pretty much dictates that whoever midfield seizes control, will go a long way to determining the result. Backing our boys to continue with their form

Sam Mitchell on SEN re first quarter against Hawks : they’d been working on exiting centre clearances out front during the week. Seems the forgot to also defend. No wonder Saints smashed them early and easily. Note though, Hawks out scored them from quarter time onwards.
So Saints struggled to put away Eagles, Roos and Hawks. Form = poor

I think it’s more about our injuries that right now are at tipping point.

The fascinating part is that Charlie aside, it's the bottom 6 type guys (and the guys back from long term injury) that are giving us the zing and momentum.

Cinc, Cotts, Martin, Fog, Motlop, TDK, Cuners (with cameos).

They're doing their role and doing it very well.

And George H. finding form is a huge plus too.

Forwards and mids keep the heat on, it makes life easy for the backs, no matter who is there....

And we have ample quality and experience down back with Weiters, Saad and Newman marshalling the troops.

Newman in career best form.

Personally, don't think we need to chuck Durdin in there, but looks like they will.

We would have to have a huge drop off in collective form to lose this one....

And that's even before acknowledging the Saints aren't playing good footy.

As in all our recent wins we need to maintain the style that has helped us achieve those wins in this game.

Despite the outs there is enough talent to beat most teams, playing the way we have. Given our recent history against St Kilda it would appear that they have a bit of a psychological hold over us. In these games we've not seemed switched on and have allowed St Kilda to dictate to us. This is definitely not how we're playing now so I would expect us to go well despite who's missing.

This is a great test for us and if we win it will be a big step towards playing finals, given that we should start to get players back over the next couple of weeks that will make us stronger. We just have to maintain the rage and belief in our team and system. Time to take another step towards participation in September.

Go Blues

Again the injury excuses...

We will be fine. Even if we lose, we will need to see how the team plays before we can say whether or not they are to blame. Last time we played them Gov, Walsh, Cerra, Kennedy, Silvagni and McKay were all there...

Rock up with the same attitude that has put us in the position to win 6 in a row and I have no doubt we will win this one. Don't forget some of their ins will be underdone. Membrey has been out for a long time, same as King. And let's not forget Hill and King were both there and match fit against West Coast...

I'm not worried.

I’m extremely nervous about this game - I’m channeling round 22 1978 - we played St Kilda at Moorabbin and we needed to win to ensure the double chance - we had just enjoyed a run of 13 wins in 15 or 16 games when Jezza was appointed coach and climbed off the bottom of the ladder, we needed to win to seal the double chance and St Kilda proceeded to touch us up by 40 points.

My hatred of these pricks pretty much stems from that day - would very much like to destroy them in Sunday.

Ross on SEN. Says Membrey "is definitely available to play" and as for King "we think he is definitely available". I reckon if King plays then Membrey doesn't get named.
Ooh. Lightening quick there!
How invested are we!:D:p
Both listening different conclusi8ns. Hmmmm.

I'm only nervous due to amount of talent out. I hear it's now the system and next soldier up. I hope so.
Also going with a saints fan has me on edge anyway.
I hope Binns gets a run.
