The Pies' other games thread is quite ironic. They believe we would be bottom 4 without Charlie, our game plan is too simplistic etc etc.

So Collingwood with a couple of injuries have been losing quite a few lately as opposed to us keep winning with a few injuries.. umm yeah.

They can go f*** themselves wait in two weeks time when the G is heaving with blues supporters if they thought pies supporters are loud they havent heard anything yet.

One from four without Daicos… something something game plan…as good as the Eagles record over the last four weeks… bottom four club. :)

I am happy to be walked through it. So… assuming there are four Melbourne teams in the finals, and Collingwood, Carlton, and St Kilda earn home ground advantage, you’re all saying it will be:

Collingwood = MCG
Carlton = MCG
St Kilda = Marvel

Is that correct?

MCG get first 3 Melbourne finals.
Marvel only gets one if there are 4 Melbourne finals. Which is highly unlikely this year. But if it did happen, Saints would be at Marvel and we'd get the G.

Thanks, Stamos. For some bizarre reason, I feel like it has been a while since I’ve focused on things like how they do finals allocations 😂😂😂

I take your point. I am in enthusiastic agreement. But if we get GWS, I reckon they will schedule us at Marvel instead of the G?

After 10’years out of finals and 94,000 members do you honestly think the AFL would schedule us Marvel?

What a great weekend. Went to the Captain’s run Friday, we started with the same intensity at the game. Boys looked like they were still there to sign autographs for the first quarter.

Suns came with pressure and intent, and we were in disarray in the middle and defence. While Kemp and Dow were very poor early, I was more disappointed in our leaders like Weiters, Doc and Cripps. They allowed the Suns to dictate the game and Witts, Miller, Swallow and Flanders stepped right up and took the game away from us. They were working harder and as a result the bounce and luck went their way.

One more goal and I think we were cooked. Told the missus if it goes above 7 goals let’s go enjoy the afternoon, I’ve seen this movie before. Carlton based footy trauma is real. But this team is made of something we haven’t had since the 90s. Grit.

At the ground, I thought it was Dow and Charlie that started it, Martin who elevated it, and Motlop who iced it. To have three of those names perform so immensely given the circumstances, the history of last years choke, the last twenty years, particularly Dow as that depth player we didn’t have in the last twenty years and in particular 2012, tells me the list is there if we get some luck through September.

Weiters fumble in the last gave me a heart attack. I thought Anderson had kicked it and my head went into my hands. We’ve been very lucky the last two weeks with our final two minutes. Plenty of room for improvement in that respect. But the big wheel spins and you ride your luck, and we certainly felt the other side last year.

Charlie’s mark was simultaneously exhilarating and a relief from last years pain. I’m sure all Blues supporters shared Charlie’s emotion as he went to ground knowing last years “lessons” had been resolved. We’ve put up with twenty years of pain, in particular the last ten years.. Malthouse.. shudders.

Ugly win, don’t care though… we’re in, we’re in form, we fear no one. Let’s ****ing go baggers!

I think you're bang on re Hollands. Love his intensity but we need to fit stars in the team.

Re Dow I cannot see Kennedy replacing him at this stage, Dow growing by the game and I know I say it every week, but he gives us something we dont already have. Has added some real hardness to his game the last few weeks and that contested mark he took where he had to sit under a skied ball. He took that one grab overhead with big pressure from behind. He didn't go pick 3 for no reason, the kid can obviously really play.

Fisher's only possible replacement at this stae is Boyd.
Fishes replacement could also be Doc (which is my preferred set up). When all mids are fit Doc isn’t a mid, even more so with Dow stepping up.
Doc can play Fish/Boyd roll better than they can- running straight lines his kicking & decision making improve & he is a lot better mark/contested ball winner & is hard AF.

Thank goodness that’s over. They aren’t all going to be pretty but, nice grind. Charlie, Owies and Motlop owned the forward line.

Newman for a pick in the 50s looks like one of the great trade steals of all time.

Weitering is just a wall back there. Programmed to perfection right now.

This game showed how important the big name inclusions will be as some of the lesser lights hit a bit of a wall. Cinc, Cotts (had moments), Cuners just seemed off the pace.

Jeez Kemp is a beauty! Marchy isn’t just stepping aside for Gov. Good on you, big fella.

Doch just keeps turning up and so neat.

Home final beckons.

Except he turn it over at an alarming rate.
