I love how you only go back to 2020. Anyway, my source is someone who actually works in the fitness and conditioning department at the club. McAdam has always had an issue with the professionalism required to be a consistent best 22 player and it’s why instead of potentially being a guy that on talent could have played 200 games and drafted a lot earlier in age than he was, will instead unlikely play 100.
The club has put a lot of resources into trying to improve what he does off field, but it just hasn’t worked out in the end, no hard feelings and we have enough forward line depth to cover him now.
He actually would have been a good fit at Port - they need more firepower up there. But, well, no assets to do that...Hawthorn looking at him apparently.
Don't tell GunstonHawthorn looking at him apparently.
That's your take ....however clearly there were things happening behind the scenes between Burgess & McAdam
So player attitude has to be taken into account at the selection table :
1. Suspended R2 ....brought straight back in R3 !
2. Gets injured R3 ...misses 6 games
3. 4 games back in the SANFL after injury
4. R13 - SANFL Bye, Crows unchanged after big win
5. R14 - Crows Bye

This, along with the fact McAdam played the last 6 games, as we strived to make the Finals .....dismisses all your points around not being best 22
It was clearly a fitness / attitude issue .....confirmed by McAdam's own comments & request for a trade .....not by any actions / beliefs of the selection committee
Unless we use it as part of steak knives in a future trade. The only problem with a F2 is we won’t see return from that for 3-4 years
NO ! .....Billings is a downhill skier, who goes missing in big games ...and important moments within gamesShould we have any interest in Billings? Has shown A grade mid qualities at times in his career, just never consistent enough
Clearly McAdam wasn't a fringe player .....a fringe player would be Cook, who's form see's him consistently on emergency lists, rather than a first choice player, when fitSo according to you a player who is not selected in the side due to fitness, attitude, behind the scenes issues with Burgess (and form) isn't a "fringe player" like I suggested but is actually best 22 - even though they aren't actually selected in the (best) 22 players
Clearly McAdam wasn't a fringe player .....a fringe player would be Cook, who's form see's him consistently on emergency lists, rather than a first choice player, when fit
By your definition, Murray missing games in 2023 and not playing most of 2024 ....makes him a fringe player
We won't draft anyone with it.The only problem with a F2 is we won’t see return from that for 3-4 years
Did we create an extra F1 out of nothing?
Will be used for WelshUnless we use it as part of steak knives in a future trade.
If there's no deal done for BZT given our shortage of key backs surely we'd consider him an option in the PSD?
Would be hilarious, but is he actually any good?If there's no deal done for BZT, given our shortage of key backs surely we'd consider him an option in the PSD?
And has a terrible history with injuryNO ! .....Billings is a downhill skier, who goes missing in big games ...and important moments within games
Who's got Port's first rounder next year? We can visit their board and help with the death riding. Can we death ride port too? I know they don't really have any picks to give us, but it'll still be fun
One of the rare circumstances is be supporting port ...Actually hope Port take Esava in the ND .... pick 24 is more than a fair price to pay, they'd be using on him anyway, and Cats get nothing.
That’s what I’m referring to, we’ve lost McAdam for friggin points in a father son pick, that’s a waste of a good playerYes and no.
I'd have liked Petty/Sparrow/Player involved.
But I am still not sold on buying Petty at his highest price. Yes I'd have him in the 22 in a heartbeat but the cost may have been a little to steep.
F2 goes onto Mich/Walsh next year so it'll get eaten up and we won't even care about the actual number it is.
There's a reason BZT's nickname is "goals galore"If there's no deal done for BZT, given our shortage of key backs surely we'd consider him an option in the PSD?
I would rather Esava. If there's no deal done for BZT, given our shortage of key backs surely we'd consider him an option in the PSD?
