If West Coast aren’t taking Reid, you’d do the north deal wouldn’t you minus giving 23 back

If I'm WC I'm only doing the deal for 2, 3 and giving North 23.I wouldn't deal with North unless they're giving up all of their freebies.
North's offer is less than inspiring, they must think they're dealing with the AFLI wouldn't deal with North unless they're giving up all of their freebies.
Why? If WC are fixed on Curtin rather than Reid, then 2 plus a couple of later firsts is a decent deal.If I'm WC I'm only doing the deal for 2, 3 and giving North 23.
I.e. Pick 1 and 23 for Picks 2 and 3.
Yeah, no doubt - I said earlier that they have a great culture so definitely would have done it better than others. My point is that he was a very different player to coach, mold and influence after the reality check that we gave him.Imagine turning up and you have Chris Scott , Jezza Cameron and the Hawk next to you , Selwood up the field a bit , Isaac Smith , Dangerfield etc
We couldn’t provide that strength of direction of a mature team with a single minded focus on a premiership that they’d been working toward for nearly 10 yrs
Right time for Stengle after what he’d been thru , right place
Why? Because North should be desperate. Why? If WC are fixed on Curtin rather than Reid, then 2 plus a couple of later firsts is a decent deal.
it all comes down to whether WC intend on taking Reid or not.
Terrible trade. Far too risky. Plus delays squad development.Still think WC F1 could end up being the asset that could shake loose.
Give WC their bounty without losing Harley Reid. That's the deal that would surely make WC stand up and take notice.
10, 14 and a F1 for WC F1.
Big risk, big reward
would want 37 to come to us in that deal..be nice to hit this draft with 20 and 37 (or wherever they land) and then next year hope like mad WCE are still in development mode and finish bottom 2Still think WC F1 could end up being the asset that could shake loose.

I'd do it for a top 3 pick in what looks like a bumper year for Mids, and one that we have access to Welsh, who looks like a 1st rounder. No questions asked.Terrible trade. Far too risky. Plus delays squad development.
I left out the steak knives, but yeah a sweetener would be nicewould want 37 to come to us in that deal..be nice to hit this draft with 20 and 37 (or wherever they land) and then next year hope like mad WCE are still in development mode and finish bottom 2
You would want to hope that a midfield of reid (he will be absolutely ready to go rd 1), ginbey, chesser, hewett and kelly don't all play well next year then..that is a quality young midfield they are buildingI'd do it for a top 3 pick in what looks like a bumper year for Mids, and one that we have access to Welsh, who looks like a 1st rounder. No questions asked.
And I can't name 3 sides that look worse than WC going into 2024. (Actually I can't name 1, but I was being kind).
There is always a risk trading into the 1st. Its a lottery, but in the above scenario, a midfield's with 1 rookie and 2 x 2nd year players is not striking too much fear into me. They are potentially good players, in some cases potentially great players, but good midfield's aren't completely rebuilt in 1 offseasonYou would want to hope that a midfield of reid (he will be absolutely ready to go rd 1), ginbey, chesser, hewett and kelly don't all play well next year then..that is a quality young midfield they are building
Same exact thing could be said for every trade scenario involving Harley Reid (or pick 1).Folks, there’s no way WCE are trading their F1 unless it’s for both 2 and 3 from North.
no way their recruitment team trades it for a bunch of later first round picks, no matter how many of their supporters come on here floating the idea.
Next best talent is a Queenslander, but putting that aside ...Why? Because North should be desperate.
Next best talents are a WA player and a Tasmanian. Both big flight risks once they hit their peak.
I think part of it from WC's POV is a perception one. They trade out of #1 and it is absolutely going to be painted as a culture issue "They didn't believe they could keep Reid happy" type BS when the truth could be they rate Curtin better or the offer of picks was too good to pass up.Why? If WC are fixed on Curtin rather than Reid, then 2 plus a couple of later firsts is a decent deal.

FWIW I think this might be Theo replacing Tom Browne? We’re gonna have to find a new mouthpiece lol
Think Cleary has already got the Chief Football Reporter role, Theo will be 2ICYeah it’s Theo moving to 7News Melbourne with Tom Browne’s departure, will be interesting to see though who’s going to be top dog with Mitch Cleary already working there.
Interesting if the person taking over from Theo as main Crows reporter has similar sources to him… even if it was just mostly Tex leading a Matt Crouch heavy agenda.
Well, if I'm honest, I absolutely hate that.Still think WC F1 could end up being the asset that could shake loose.

Yeah, except maybe they improve and maybe we get a shitty injury run. Maybe they end up pick 4 and maybe we end up pick 8, and we've give 10 and 14 to move four spots.I'd do it for a top 3 pick in what looks like a bumper year for Mids, and one that we have access to Welsh, who looks like a 1st rounder. Sure - but has he turned up top five in any of the draft rankings recently?Well if Curtin isn't he should be, offers way more versatility being capable back, forward and on ball at his size than a medium forward that MAY eventually transition into the midfield.
Yeah former SANFL footballer Andrew Hayes does the Power stuff, they’ll probably just go in-house for a replacement, probably a guy named Tom Wilson or ex-soccer player Robbie Cornthwaite, whoever it is do expect slightly less leaks/puff pieces to come out now given Theo had a decade to build up trust.Think Cleary has already got the Chief Football Reporter role, Theo will be 2IC
I’m not SA-based so I forget, is there already a guy at 7 working beside Theo?
