If Curtin slid past, say, Melb’s pick, would you try to trade up for him?
I would, but I reckon a team would just take Curtin for themselves

That's why I said high risk, high reward!Yeah, except maybe they improve and maybe we get a shitty injury run. Maybe they end up pick 4 and maybe we end up pick 8, and we've give 10 and 14 to move four spots.
Who knows - Welsh perhaps ends up around pick 12 to 15 and the whole thing was pointless?
I’m still laughing at Rowey saying Wilson is ‘not the best kick’ lolRowey really should do some research just a tiny little bit even on the draftees, just about everything he says here is totally wrong...4.30 mark for the draft talk
I always thought Rowie got his footy knowledge from here. Am sure he’s been seen spouting similar stuff that gets posted herelol
Rowey has us taking Arie Schoenmaker at #10
That is the hope and playing the odds says you are correct, but the what if is there with that many top end kidsThere is always a risk trading into the 1st. Its a lottery, but in the above scenario, a midfield's with 1 rookie and 2 x 2nd year players is not striking too much fear into me. They are potentially good players, in some cases potentially great players, but good midfield's aren't completely rebuilt in 1 offseason
Yeah it’s Theo moving to 7News Melbourne with Tom Browne’s departure, will be interesting to see though who’s going to be top dog with Mitch Cleary already working there.
Interesting if the person taking over from Theo as main Crows reporter has similar sources to him… even if it was just mostly Tex leading a Matt Crouch heavy agenda.
Or.. he's the one posting it.I always thought Rowie got his footy knowledge from here. Am sure he’s been seen spouting similar stuff that gets posted here
I very rarely listen to him and even on those few times, have heard him quote Bigfooty on 5AA.I always thought Rowie got his footy knowledge from here. Am sure he’s been seen spouting similar stuff that gets posted here
Or.. he's the one posting it.
He's never been about research & being informative. He certainly hasn't been looking at this board's draft talk. Go listen to the absolute shyte he's spouting in the post above, the bloke's an absolute tool with the zero research he's done on the draftees.
Schoenmaker reminds me a bit of Suckling. Nice player, but not a star. He's never been about research & being informative.
Prefers to come up with sensationalist crap!
It's why I don't bother listening to him as a waste of time.
Huh?Schoenmaker reminds me a bit of Suckling. Nice player, but not a star.
Arie Schoenmaker.Huh?
Ok... but not sure what that had to do with my quote on Rowie?Arie Schoenmaker.
Thanks for clarifying... as you can see I don't listen to Rowie.Rowe thinks Adelaide should take him with pick 10 if we can't trade up, that's why 1990 mentioned Schoenmaker.
I was responding to a post that said North should be desperate to trade up, because the players at 2 and 3 were definitely a WA and Tasmanian kid and they shouldn't draft them. You put too much faith in media draft rankings, there's only one set of people that will have the final say.
FTFY, the bloke's an absolute tool
Same principle though - would WWT have been as effective in helping him turn his shit around if he hadn't been dealt a massive reality check by getting cut from an AFL club?If you read the article that was written about Stengle and his return to AFL football.. and the words of Anna (eddies missus) when they interviewed her for the article.. She actually credits WWT for helping Tyson turn it all around and resurrecting his career.. not Geelong. He was already on track before he landed at geelong..
Which is an even more damning indictment against the crows..
Even a pissant little SANFL club showed it could deal with and help manage a troubled player better than the crows could!.
The crows just dumped him like a hot potato so it could look tough on troubled players to the media and its pathetic appricot slice munching brigage of tossers that make up a fair chunk of its supporter base..
And boy didnt that backfire for the crows.. he turned into an AA small forward that won a flag.. and we got NOTHING for him in return!..
Just more brilliant list management!..
I'm just suggesting 1 good year, or 1 bad year ...does not define a player or clubs successful partnership
That players can pull an out of the box season when needed (contract or new opportunity) .....often though, it's a "Blue Moon" event
And?
The club gives the opportunity. The player either takes it or doesn't.
Wasn’t there reports and pictures of him back to his old tricks this year?
Was Eddie Betts at the other clubs?
That's why I said high risk, high reward!
Can't get the reward without the risk...
Well Unless you're Geelong
AgreeYeah, no doubt - I said earlier that they have a great culture so definitely would have done it better than others. My point is that he was a very different player to coach, mold and influence after the reality check that we gave him.
Most teams would have derived benefit from the 'last chance saloon' approach he would have been taking to his footy by that point. He was always going to be become a better and more focused player - it was just a question of how much.
He would definitely help with our kick outs hahalol
Rowey has us taking Arie Schoenmaker at #10
