Big game for Francis & Arnold given Melican’s twang.

agree. We covered well last night when Melican went down. But we need another tall who can take intercepts And use the ball. I am really hoping Arnold steps up today and earns a debut.

Owen, Ladhams, Hickey and BigMac. Have we ever named four rucks before. Suspect there will be limited minutes from Ladhams and the cooked RJ. The contrast with the firsts last night who relied on an undersized HMac is stark. Hope those four big unco units do not get in Buller’s way.

Hoping Matty Roberts can play more minutes this week. I thought he was terrific when he came on last week.

I'd just rest Hickey completely, no point using up a spot.

Not sure if I should have added Gould to this list or not.

It’s really hard to know where he’s at now - ahead of Arnold? I just don’t know.

Nope. I reckon you were right to leave him out. Don’t think he is reliable and has burnt the ball a bit as well.

Sadly, I reckon he has accepted his potential AFL career is done. I reckon over the past month he has put a lot of weight on and it is not in the right places.

During season most players struggle to keep condition on because of intensive training and game loads. I reckon Will has put weight on. In fairness he may be carrying an injury that prevents hard training. Who would know?

At any event he is looking further away from another game in the firsts than at any other time In his time with us.

Clarke is playing this game.

Looks like Francis isn't, Geddes in for him. I assume they've taken him as a precautionary measure now that Melican is out.

I haven't noticed the weight gain but generally agree with the premise of him slipping behind his opposition for an AFL spot. Some of his ball use has been diabolical. As well, he still is getting burnt on the lead. I did however like his cameo as a forward in the Richmond game and felt he had a positive impact on our game. Maybe some game time there today?

Not if Francis is out. And with 4 rucks + Buller to fit somewhere.

Scrappy. Clarkey must be among the worst users of the ball in the comp.

Our mids are struggling. We might have the one too many talls….lol. We have gone from famine to feast.

Buller is a shining light. Whole hearted and has some tricks.

Ladhams started in the ruck but feels like Hickey has spent more time there now. Encouragingly he looks a bit more mobile and can actually get off the ground in some of the center bounces.

Sweet definitely the best ruck on the ground so far. But not surprising given how much time Ladhams has been out and Hickey’s general state.

Buller looking very active as a bustling CHF type, getting right up on the wings to contest in the air.

I’m bullish Matt Roberts too, not that he’ll be a star, but as a very reliable midfield type. Good to see him back at it, looked good that quarter around stoppages.

Skills definitely a difference, they're slicker with their hands in close. Caleb Mitchell getting a lesson from Oskar Baker at the moment.
