If this is genuinely the way we intend to structure up I'm severely disappointed.
1) Hickey rucking suggests he will be next ruck back into seniors. Looks like there is no intent to use McAndrew in seniors this season.
2) Magor at HB. Give him some midfield minutes surely. Why Kirk in the forwards?
3) HF line is ridiculous. Surely either Ladhams or Buller at CHF?
4) Edwards in the pocket getting SFA development. Swap him and Rankin.

Kirk at CHF.Yeah, right. No you can rest assured they won't line up that way.

Overall though, a very lumbering top heavy side.

It's a reflection of the standing of our ruck stocks. We have:

1) Hickey passed it
2) Ladhams coming back from injury but still big question marks about whether he is first team quality
3) McAndrew too skinny and raw still but progressing
4) Owen only made limited progress this year and playing mainly as a forward

As a result, McLean and Amartey are our AFL ruck brigade and our VFL team is severely unbalanced.

Rampe and Bud likely both out makes reserves fascinating watching today.

McLean seems to have the trust of the coaches currently as the number one ruck but our clearance game is getting smacked currently. It plays into our strengths of rebounding and moving the ball from the back half but I can't imagine the coaches are satisfied with our stoppage game currently. I'd be hoping Ladhams is prioritised as number one ruck in reserves today; unless we get injuries, Hickey should be considered insurance at this point imo. McAndrew to play 2nd ruck and work on his ability to play forward would be my preference. He's got plenty of time to develop so use the time to boost his skills as a forward to allow Ladhams to put his hand up to play in the coming weeks when we play some good contested ball and clearance sides in GWS, Gold Coast, Adelaide and Melbourne in our attempt to make finals. Then there's also the Buller option as a straight swap for Bud rather than shifting McLean out of ruck. Buller you'd imagine would be out of his skin today to prove himself.

Francis you'd have to think is odds on to come in for Rampe if he can't play but I'd also hope Arnold is told to go all out today to secure a spot. Gould I can't imagine is any realistic shot given he's been forward lately.
