I remember the dark ages when we couldn't get anyone to our club... oh times have changed when we manage to pinch players out of Collingwood's grasp

I think adding Doedee, McKenna and Wilmot provides a better balance to our defence rather than defenders who don't rebound or intercept (Gardiner and Lester) or good users who struggle defending (Witherden, Birchall and Rich).

We can also manage the transition when he comes back from his ACL with Lester

Key back stocks are looking better again with Andrews, Payne, Lester, Joyce, Gardiner and Doedee. Lester and Doedee obviously the third talls in that group.

Will be interesting to see whether the other rumours come to fruition like Coffield and Chol. Chol seems unlikely due to Gold Coast losing Burgess and I think Coffield depends on whether Robertson re-signs.

A bit to play out but they might be comfortable with Gunston, Fullarton and Fort as depth

You’d imagine once he gets fit, we’d likely go with Harris, Payne and Doedee as the first choice 3.

Obviously we saw this year the depth Dizz provides us, but from his perspective, you would think he would prefer playing regularly.

Does anyone rate Joyce .
I thought he started off well early this season.
Added a bit of agility and pace , maybe his foot skills needed to be worked on.
Or was it his one on one defending.
Still thought he held his own.
Ps. haven't heard much of him though while playing reserves.

I like Joyce, but I genuinely feel he is the Rhys Mathison of our backline. Lots of promise, not a bad player, great in the VFL, maybe not AFL quality.

If it is 5 years @ 600k per then in year 4 and 5 he will be at the average AFL salary ($607k in 2027).

doedee is a great acquisition. andrews / payne/ doedee would have to challenge for the best starting kpd lineup in the league for the next 5 years if they get a good run at it
