Without any evidence I think the science behind ACL's has gotten a lot better. Would love to know the strike rate of a player returning and playing at a high level versus not returning for the last 5 years versus 20 years ago.
That would be interesting to know.

I guess we can take the Lions recent history with Rayner and Hipwood making successful comebacks and hopefully young Ashcroft. also mention to Rowell down the road.

I'd be interested to know if the firmness of the training track has anything to do with it. Let's say the medical science is about equal across the league as outside specialists and surgeons are used. The rehabilitation processes and schedules seem the same but i guess the mitigating factors are the medical facilities and possibly the firmness of the ground under foot.

We do know Brisbane has a great reputation for 'fixing' the broken.

I’d be aiming for the best mature aged state league midfielder that we can either plug in from the get go next year, or alternatively throw in if we get some injuries.

We’ve got the young guys coming in next years draft, we should be focusing on a few mature guys this offseason for some depth if injuries strike (let’s be honest, we’re due).

We couldn't afford it in either picks or $$$

Mathieson ?
Rich gone
There’s a few list cloggers now … Gardiner probably one of them but he’s contracted. I’d have Lester still over him and I think Blake Coleman should be delisted …
Dizzy a long way away from being a list clogger. Providing he stays injury free, will be a big part of our defensive structure in 2024.

Coffield next?

Not sure on that one.

I was affiliated with his junior club for a long time. Talk a few weeks back was he was interested but the Saints have given him a good offer and I am not sure it's our priority at the moment. Bulldogs have joined the party as well and Bontempelli was also affiliated with Eltham and he looked up to him. My understanding is that he will move to us if we put a good offer to him. It's all up to the club. I think he stays with the Saints.

Add in the fact Daly didn't talk about him tells me he is not our priority. So highly doubtful.

would like the club to be keeping tabs on aaron naughton and jamarra ugle hagan next year. both out of contract in 2024 and bulldogs have croft arriving this year so there is a squeeze on kpp there.

key position forward is the one position that gives me anxiety going forward. do not know how long daniher has left when his body has had some pretty significant issues across the journey.

we have had some good success pillaging footscray so far in adams and dunkley and either of naughton or ugle-hagan would be great acquisitions for us in a year where our draft picks will be used for points anyway. seems to be easier to get players out of there than most other clubs

definitely hope we can poach one of them next year

Speaking of your affiliations, SB, this is the lad we need to get on the list, somehow.

Another affiliation. Not sure if it is the thread to put it in.

Finnbar Maley. Link to the NFNL Grand Final Highlights. This is a player we should seriously look at so Daniher can spend more time forward.

Strong overhead. Agile. Presents well around the ground. Good in ruck. Dangerous up forward. Can take a contested mark.

Seen him over the last two years. He should be drafted this year. May as well be us that draft him.

Hello Brisbane fans!

The embedded resources below are kept up to date by the trade board mods (as much as possible – we are human after all). Enjoy!

Expected but sad that he could get his body right. At times this year he looked close but couldn’t maintain the level for the whole game. Certainly knew how to stick a tackle.

Crows keep pumping out very good defenders. Every few years they get pillaged yet always seem to find another replacement ready to go. Amazingly well run club and got some good systems in place.

About time we had our go.
I feel the same about everything the Giants do irrespective of how high a calibre player leaves.

JasRulz63 puts together a more credible thread than this speculative base each year, so they'd be a good resource to insert into that one.

I dare say if we find a state league footballer ready to step straight into our midfield, all other teams would know about him.
