I would be reluctant to offer a future first for Hollands, maybe if we were getting back GC’s future second round pick.

At this stage, Hollands hasn’t shown he can consistently play midfield, even in the reserves.
I don't see his value being any higher than Dev's, should he be traded to WCE.

Realistically, what could we offer to get it done? Future 1st given we won’t need it anyway with Levi coming?
Yes we do. Levi is not coming cheap. We will need to match a first round bid, maybe top 5. Also there’s one or two other academy kids that we will need points to match bids. So our future first round pick will need to be turned into a points gathering trade maneuvering exercise.

Realistically, Hollands would be heading back to Victoria if he was to leave the Suns. I understand you can only ask the question, but trade hypotheticals are likely to be just that.

Hopefully we have a chat to Braeden Campbell soon. He’s the ideal half back/wing replacement for Rich. If we can get Wilmot, Coleman and Campbell in the same side then we’re absolutely set.

It doesn’t really phase me that much. Can’t keep an entire list together every year. I do feel Tunstill would have moved past him come next year anyway

Has Tunstill been any good in the reserves?
Don't really watch the VFL.

I can see Dev staying if he gets a good run in finals or if Zorko retires.

Dev has certainly been better than Tunstill in the twos but he also appears to get a fair few more midfield minutes than Jimmy does. Personally I really like Jimmy as a player.

I’ve found the whole touring a club’s facilities as quite peculiar particularly when all club’s training bases are all first class for the most part.

I mean most people when they change jobs, with the exception of an organisation’s geographical location, could care less or rather it’s hardly a contributing factor to one’s decision making.

IDK if you said met with the Eagles, ok that’s one thing, but is touring a facility really going to be the tipping point?

For us, getting a player to tour our facilities means being able to show them we no longer expect anyone to train in a dungeon or to have to book exercise equipment, hopefully putting to bed anything they may have heard about our facilities previously.

In general though it also allows the player to meet with and potentially bond with potential teammates and coaching staff. I imagine changing clubs is a bit like moving house; you want to check out the neighbours and work out if you can see yourself living there before you commit.

Imagine my horror when I saw the clip about Jamie Elliott touring our "facilities" at Gabba.

Would've catched the next flight and bolted back to Pies !

He and Paddy Ryder were the two most recent examples that came to mind, yes. I dunno if Elliott was a realistic chance of coming to Brisbane but that would put paid to it

I've always seen it a bit like having a job interview. See the place, chat to the coaches and some senior staff and see if you get a good feel. But its only a small part of the whole decision making process

Have my doubts about Dev touring their facilities. I thought touring another clubs facilities in season isn't allowed. Anything goes as soon as the clubs season is finished but it's not something I can recall any of our players previously doing or players we're trying to target.

To be fair, to class West Coast as 'another club' this season is a bit generous.

A mate of mine is a good friend of Jamie and I don't think it was really on the cards. Jamie had been through constant injuries and was considering the warmer weather, but there was never anything that was convincing from him.

“Touring their facilities” is a bit like the old “seen dining with rival network executives” in media circles. Pick a prominent table and make sure everyone sees you. If I was trying to bump my price up, it’s exactly what my manager would tell me to do. I seem to recall Mike Moore doing something similar in a Frontline episode.

I would like Dev Robertson to stay, but it is a business.

Tom Morris just reported Dev Robertson has a 4 year deal in front of him from the Eagles and an unspecified offer from us.

In addition hes picked up 25K followers on Insta since our last game.
If they are prepared to offer a 4 year deal, then they pay a decent price.
Especially when we have an offer in front of him as well.
