Ryan was a late MSD pick that played 3 games, one of which he had one touch before being subbed out. He had a two game sample size worthy of comment.

He would also be vying for a spot with Chol, DGB and Ramsden this season. Losing him is hardly the end of the world.
It's not the end of the world. It's just giving up a player who had potential to take us forward, in order to get back a player who left the club. One of the worst deals I've ever seen the HFC do. I'll never understand it. We should have walked away.

I think the one that hurts is giving up our second rounder for next year which will be quite high for Chol, as well as Chol's 5 year contract. There is certainly some risk there in GC not playing this year, 3rd club for him. Are we in a rebuilding or premiership phase. I am alittle confused by that selection. Then again draft picks are just that, look at DGB with such high pick. Chol is similar age to mitch lewis, perhaps thinking to be a double throng attack.

We lost a 25 year old who has played 3 games and a forward that nobody wanted.

We got a fwd who is better than both of them in Chol and a favourite son back.

Losing Brocky stung but Ginni is 20 with 50 + goals to his name, he will be better anyway.

Plus Massimo for bugger all

The melt downs in this thread are pretty pathetic tbh.

So GCS fine to part with Hollands for a future 3rd but Chol no we * Hawthorn. Its an interesting approach by GCS to other clubs compared to us. The JOM trade still burns. Its the only explanation

You are kidding right? GC/AFL reamed us on that trade.

It's a bit fishy that it's only us that GC choose to play hardball with don't you think?

How did we have all the leverage in the world for D'Ambrosio and still end up giving up more than we initially wanted to? Must have something to do with list spots, but doesn't explain the future pick being involved at all.

Can’t wait to see Chol light up the MCG. :moustache:

Purely just to make sure Massimo doesn't have to jump through loopholes.
F4 would have been enough in my books though.

Yeah it isn't worth melting over a 4th round pick but why?

Just frustrating when we didn't have to do it.

So pretty much this was the outcome, happy with that tbh 👍

IN: Ginnivan, Chol, Gunston, 1335 Points, F2nd(Coll), F4th(Coll)
Out: Brockman, Kosi, Ryan, 783 Points, F2nd, F3rd, F4th

guess we just value the branding of being pleasant to deal with. the lack of F4 means we wont be able to pick up Scully or Patton now though :(
