Not sure where laughing stock for Caddy at 4 which will be 5 after the Walter bid comes from. Twomey has him at 8 and the ESPN dude has him at 6 in their rankings. All time howler and lucky to be taken top 10 isn't what the AFL and ESPN media seem to believe.

Caddy aside - I was chuffed with the hypothetical because it was one of the most realistic assessment of value for our players I’ve seen in some time.

This is the best and most realistic Hypothetical I have seen by a long way. My only caveat being Caddy at 4. On positional need a huge tick but there are some serious question marks on his character which concerns me. If we got 4 perhaps one of the other key talls?

Love the moves but think if we held onto our future 1st and found another way to get pick 8-15 to draft Caddy (if he’s our target) that would be ideal. I’d probably find a way to squeeze Nash into the best 22 aswell…

Pick 4 won't come cheap. Browse every team's board here and every supporter base thinks they're getting it. Will have to pay big overs for it.

Perhaps you ahould go the other way.
Trade 3 for 4,2024r2 with Gold Coast.
Or GWS could trade you 6 for Hawthorn's 2024r1, then you can just use that instead.

There was quite a bit of confusion, on this board and the media, as to why we were picking up another general defender. Laughing stock might be a bit strong, but there was certianly discourse around the price we paid and his fit in the team. Going back to draft night there was a lot of positivity around him, and now we see it was for good reason, but there was some negativity around the pick. All I meant by the comment was that if MM, as guided by Mitch and the list management team, see Caddy as worth Pick 4 lets give them a season or two to see if they're right.

Oh don't worry, I agree it would be a massive coup for him to get picked up at 4 (5 after Norf get the compo). I don't have him in that top bracket, and I'd be pretty shocled if anyone before the Cats picked him up. But if it does happen, I'll back the club and their decision making.
