The only thing I imagine they might want him for is his leadership and standard setting. He's a proper Rooey type high expectations general. Looks absolutely cooked but plenty are saying Freo are letting him rot.
The old leadership line , no thanks Hanners

Could be shooting Bambi, but would Steele be on the trade table, if he landed something large?

Owens has shown enough to replace next year in the middle without losing much.

Captaincy to Wilkie.

Would rather see our captain back to his best and killing it in the midfield with Sinclair, Owens and Clark

Think Crouch and Ross are the ones that will have to make way at some point.

Crouch has been very good this year and last

If Jones got the chop at the end of this year, would anyone else pick him up ?.

He’s a hard one to judge.
His pace alone would probably get him a gig somewhere. Everyone’s off him ATM because he isn’t playing but when he’s out there he’s usually pretty good.

Hes not a free agent so there'd be no compo. We'd have to trade for him.
FK that’s even worse. I assumed he was OOC hence the interest.

Baffles me that we’d be into someone like that if we’d have to pay a high salary and trade for him.

He is out of contract, but you dont become a free agent until you have served 8 years at the club

He's 5 years into his career I believe but uncontracted which means if a club wants him they must trade a pick for him

At a decent price he's worth a shot but I wouldn't be giving up any more than a 2end rounder and a basic contract for him

No doubt mate. So has Seb

But something has got to give if we're going to build a premiership midfield.

I'd take Owens and Sincs in there over Crouch and Ross. (although it wasn't long ago I was saying Ross has been playing too well to consider dropping... it's bloody tricky tbh)

I want Clark to stay in there.

How do you see it?

we can do that for now with rotations. Clark and Sincs are already been playing close to myb 30-40% midfield. Owens will be stuck in the forwardline until we get King back at least, but he should get some mid rotation soon. Pou has also spent a bit of time in the guts - which I am sure will increase as he builds. Windy too has had a bit of time in the guts - he hasn't been getting a full crack at it, but he can be a point of difference in our midfield - he has that bullish explosive pace and quick reaction. Him and Bytel both need some full game time

I think Owens can go straight to the midfield as soon as Caminiti is available. King comes in for Cordy.

Steele - Owens - Sincs is a great combo would love Owens to be playing 60% of his time as a mid when King is back

Sincs & Clark swapping of the HBF, Clark has started on the wing a couple of times

Ross - Crouch working through there is a given with their form at the minute

I think RTB loves working them all through there so they can all run the game out and run the oppositions mids into the ground

All that without Windy & even The Pou to spend time in there

Hopefully by mid to end of next year our main Mid group is Steele - Owens - Windy - Clark with the Pou running through there as wellir

Late 2nd rounder and $500k at the most
At the very very most. He is not worth anything above 500k. Would be very disappointed if SoS started to fill us up with Carton cast offs AND at huge cost.

In saying that Stocker and Caminiti as moneyball pickups have been excellent. However if we are looking big time spend (700-800k) they have to be excellent with upside potential (Bing) or something like the Whitfield and a high first rounder for a mill a year.
Not some scrub like TDK whom I didn't even realise was a ruck forward (thought he was a backman) until a couple of weeks back. Looks like a poor mans Stanley IMO.

No.no.no.no.no.
And once again, for those in the back…no.
( Been there, done that with Hanners.)
Need our own players to step up as leaders.
I reckon we go after Shane Mumford tbh

Just can't see the point in TDK or any ruckman unless he'll flat out replace Marshall who then get traded.

Despite the rumours and reports, King says he’s settled on the Gold Coast after being asked whether he could see himself being a 10-to-15-year player for the Suns.
“Yeah, definitely, I’m very settled up here now,” King replied on SEN Breakfast.
“I bought a house up here and my girlfriend has moved up.
“I love everyone at the football club. So, yeah, I’m definitely really settled up here and I know a lot of the other boys are in the same boat.”
