Which is why I suggested a guy like amon wouldn't be crazy to target.

If all goes to plan and we are playing finals this year and pushing for a flag in the next 3 years (before the likes of steele, marshall, sinclair, crouch, membrey etc all turn 30+)... then replacing nwm with a ready to go replacement for minimal trade cost is what we need.... not an 18 year old.
Was told on the weekend Amon wanted to come to us and the club didn't even bother speaking to him

Straight swap for Sinn?

Adelaide have their first rounder at least. Club will probably settle for a couple of 3rd rounders from the Power when Nas nominates them though...

Would be so much better if non FA players could only nominate a state vs a specific club. If Nas does want to go home to be closer to family then it shouldn't matter if it's the Crows or the Power. Once he's a FA then he can walk to the other team but, in the short term, he should have to go where we get the best deal.

Most key forwards are still finding their feet at 20 years of age

Josh Kennedy kicked 7 goals in 7 games at the same age

Tom Lynch kicked 8 goals in 8 games

The very best young key forwards like Kings, Franklin, Cameron etc have been able to do it for an early age but we'd be up for $1m a year and 2 x first round picks for them and even then, good luck finding one.

We've been trying to get King since he was drafted.

Gaurantee there will be plenty of interest around him this year, not just from us

Caminiti looks promising and Keeler looks like a KPF/ruck. Still hope Sharman can develop too. Maybe we should develop our own for now. I'd love a good small forward.

If Nas walks then doesn't it leave the door open for the teams that finish below Adelaide/ Port to draft him? I think the same happened to Hugh Greenwood.

Pretty silly to rate him off one game though don’t you think

Looked good in his first year. Had his injury issues last year but was apparently very good in the WAFL when he returned
Probably is, but I said what I said.

Doesn’t cut the mustard for me.

Be nice, but I wouldn’t be pinning all my hopes on those guys

How many young KPFs do we want to carry though? We've got Adams and VanEs in reserve as young KPDs too. Allison for a couple years more. Probably light on for midfield depth, especially if we decide that Bytel isn't going to make it.

SoS is going to be earning his cash with planning a list. Sounds like our targets are McKay and TDK so another 1 or 2 talls if they are successful.

Bergman was pretty good on the weekend

Bergman looks a pretty good prospect. At the moment he's a fair bit ahead of Nas but only 1 year older. The way it's going Berg will be costing more than Nas. Should have been brave last year and done the trade.

Allison for on more year. Most would be surprised to see him make it much longer than that

Sharman can’t get a game with our three best key forwards out

Caminiti is a supplementary pick that has been with us 6 weeks

Keeler wasn’t wanted by the Crows who could have had him for nothing

It makes sense to go after other talls and not just sit back and hope one of those guys happens to make it

I would be quite happy to replace Allison with Treacy, even if he only ended up being a fringe or depth player

Bringing in another tall does not stop us targeting midfielders also

Just watched RL's presser.

Everyone says he's a long way off and probably won't even make it, and that may well be the case, but it was interesting that Ross mentioned Peris first when talking about players from the Sandy practice match who may be available for selection:

"Jack Peris was really good; pressure small forward..."

Not saying he plays this week. Not saying he plays this year. Not saying he plays ever.

Just saying "interesting"

Yep he is gone
Sadly I think he was gone before his 1st game for us

Someone needs their ass kicked for not doing their homework

Strongly disagree. Pick the best player and back your system for them to flourish and stay.
I'm taking Nas with a chance to go back home than Hobbs or Sinn any day.

Strong watch on Heath, Adams and VanEs, good signs from them would do wonders for our list and you'd think all 3 would be tried at some stage if not this year, definitely next.

Gotta get into bergmans ear. Think he can be a bit like Mason wood. Same height. Same attributes. Bergman can be just as good if not better than Nas

He's from a Saints supporting family but as we know that doesn't always work out.

Even if he was never staying ?

I’d imagine Treacy will be dropped this week

Rumours from the Freo supporters are if he doesn’t get a good run of games this year then he is gone

He’s looked promising at times, 195cm and seems to have that aggression you want from a key forward.

Can’t imagine he’d cost a lot
Seems to have a bit of the old Josh Jenkins / Rory Lobb / Kurt Tippett going on. Tall and athletic and a little bit pea hearted.

Not true - there was absolutely zero talk in Adelaide for most of last year that NWM was remotely gettable.
Is true
Asked to be traded back last year that’s a fact
Also club struggled to get him back here when he did go home for a visit

Maybe but there's been talk on here since day dot that he's going to go home, and now he's one of the only guys who hasn't re-signed. Maybe there was no talk about him last year because he wasn't gettable then but was always going to be this year?

Zero chance of a non-Adelaide-based team taking him, if he wants to go home he wants to go home. Players always get their wish in those situations.
