Thoughts on Darcy Parish?

FA at the end of this season. Might thrive under our elite coaching group.

He'd cost a fair bit. To me we need a better small pressure forward or Butler needs to play to last week's standard every week and a ruck forward. Keep bringing in kids.

Ginnivan, Sonsie etc who are behind established ring ins would be a better investment poetnatilly.

We came out and said we would prioritise guys from the area, Josh Sinn isn’t getting much of an opportunity at Port, he might be one we look at, I’d say anyone of note from around the bay area would be a good shout at receiving a call from us.

He's a free agent so may not cost anything in a trade. Probably not our number one priority though. Very similar type to Crouch.

Looks like Ross has Peris touted as a pressure forward and we did take Ollie Hotton in the draft who I rate very highly.

I think Butler is having a decent start to the year. Quiet round one but his pressure helped turn the game back around against thr Dogs.

Always room for improvement though. Did you have anyone in mind?

The boys mentioned have at least 3-4 years of good footy ahead of them though, once we have a full allotment of players back you’re going to be seeing the likes of Zak Jones, Jack Billings running around at Sandy, I don’t see any of Amon or Wingard as an improvement on Jones or Billings, same same for me, we want top end talent either via trade/FA or draft knocking blokes out of the side not bloody Karl Amon or Chad Wingard, two blokes who run one way and not the other

At least someone like a Dow is young, under the Ross regime maybe it could bring the best out of him, the other guys are known commodities
Don't think I have seen a bigger ball butcher then Dow and thats at VFL level

I suppose it depends on where we want to spend our salary cap? We must still have a fair bit of flexibility given we attempted to attract De Goey and Ben King before hand. But I think we still need to add to our midfield, as the injuries have highlighted this year. I agree a ruck/forward and a small forward are immediate requirements, but perhaps Hotton/Peris fills that small forward role and Hayes/Keeler might fill the other role?

I think if we can pinch a free agent from the injectors, we should.

He cops a lot but since his breakout year he averages over 13 contested possessions a game. I’m taking that if it’s as a FA. Bit similar to Crouch but Brad will be 30 next year.

You’d have in your side no doubt. I was keen to chase him when he was getting played out of position.

Need to be smart with the salary cap though. I don’t think he’s the type of player that puts us into premiership contention and if we spend our money bringing players like that it probably won’t leave a lot of room to bring in the genuine match winners we need.

I meant as a wage. Essendon will pay him well and we'd have to outbid them. The midfield looks okay with what we have and Bytel, Windy, Hotton and Chito types in development. It wouldn't be my highest priority. I'd rather keep Gresham, you basically be swapping them and Gresh has heap more line breaking and X factor, Parish more polish. To me he isn't that much more outstanding than anything we have.

It sounds like we'd be prepared to lose Gresham to pay for TDK and McKay.Not sure we have heaps of space. Half the side seems out of contract this year too.

Thank * for that
Think its best for all parties. Would have been a Jackson 2.0 scenario where as at the Blues he's got time to develop and not be overpaid with the pressure that comes with it.

On a side note I hope we're making a play for Gresh, our half forwards are atrocious in comparison to even middle of the road sides.

Reported on SEN TDK about to offer a 2 year deal at Carlton to take him up to DFA @26 and the big pay day.
On to Ben McKay

Can’t see how you’d fit him into the salary cap. He’s not gonna leave for peanuts.

Got any more Stockers or Caminiti's you can give us for free. Mighty nice of you.

How's you SC? Gresham is looking for the payday as a DFA.

Harry Himmelberg as a FA and is a better option then TDK

Harry Himmelberg doesn't give us much in the way of rucking though. I think we might want a ruck forward. His brother might come cheap.
