I think that is the opposite to how I see him. I think of him as a good long kick and not very high production. I think of him as another DMac. More outside than inside not fast or slow but is a decent tackler and looks like he works hard. Maybe a Seb Ross replacement as a receiver inside mid.
what exactly are you disagreeing with mate?

you literally just compared him to our Vanilla players

What if we trade Steele and use that pick on bailey Smith?

We've wanted Goldstein for years, maybe 1 or 2 left in him? And we've done well out of mature Ruckman.

Surely we’re not going to go against our one ruckman strategy by playing Goldstein & Marshall.

Surely we’re not trading in Goldstein and trading out Marshall.

So why would we be linked to him?

I don't think he's a very good accumulator but has more hurt than some. Didn't say he isn't a bit vanilla. He's a meh addition. Might still have some scope to improve but otherwise he's depth. He was drafted as a more outside type from memory and that's fits with what Lyon thinks we need. Still don't have an inside bulk extractor which would be nice.

And surely Goldstein is not coming in to upgrade the ruck quality at Sandy?
Although maybe we get him in as ruck coach for Heath

Would allow us to swap them between Ruck and Forward line.

we would actually gain from that and lose nothing in the ruck whilst giving us 2 very different type of ruckmen during the game.

we 100% need a more seasoned option next to King.

This was Jordan Last year. Lost his place this year and had injuries. will be 24 next year

improves immediately over say Clark or Ross.

His 20 disposals is not an improvement over Ross 20 disposals,
Which he went of injured twice early I think he’s usually good for 25 or so.

Not saying I wouldn’t take Jordan especially if it doesn’t cost much but just your call is off the mark there.

He's actually perfet for 2 years of service at no trade cost.
We have VEss, Hammer, Moose and Keeler who can feed in progressively over that space of time without the need for urgency.

Howard and some change for 11?
i dont think he's improved his worth since we traded for him. best you'd hope for is swapping picks. so we go up a couple, but cant see sydney being that desperate. sounds like grundy is a done deal which makes getting their 2nd rounders hard, unless theyre splitting their pick.

My point is...will he want to play at Sandy? I doubt RTB is changing his strategy to have 2 rucks.

i didn't think Mckay is an 800k p/y player either.

Need sometimes trumps value and you pay a little more.

there is next to no KPD on the market once Mckay goes at Howards level

Ross's strategy over his career has been to use 2 rucks.
Unfortunately I'm not sure Roma plays well as second ruck/ ruck - forward.
Playing with Paddy (much as we all loved him) didn't do Roma's development any favours.

But who am I to argue with RTB about bringing in a long in the tooth ruckman?
