And for what it’s worth.
Wouldn’t surprise me at all if Clark says he wants to go to North.
They still very much like him
This sounds like our Gresham tactic. “We love him, he’s staying on”. But we’re really thinking “hey, hope this pumps up their price”.Hunter Clark closes in on a new saints deal HSun
Eight Saints will undergo surgery in the next week, as preparations for the next pre-season already get underway.
Jack Steele (ankle), Max King (shoulder), Brad Crouch (knee), Jack Hayes (knee), Dougal Howard (finger), James Van Es (ankle), Mason Wood (shoulder) and Dan Butler (ankle) will all undergo procedures to ready them for a big summer.
you're welcome
Hayes had his surgery prior to the last game so I wouldn't take the wording of that sentence as gospel.
We want Gresh to stay. This sounds like our Gresham tactic. “We love him, he’s staying on”. But we’re really thinking “hey, hope this pumps up their price”.
OK what does that even mean?
Contract turnaround?
He's not that bad yet.Resigning billings was seriously stupid and alot of saw that one coming...
Hunter Clark is billings MK2.
Meh
Just go to the draft
Agreed. Between King, Hammer, Hayes, Sharman and Keeler I think we are set for KPFs.Meh

So I was just talking to a fella whose son knows Jack Ginnivan. Apparently he toured the club about a month ago and is now committed to coming across!
Try this then, from a day agoThe article below was from 7 August 2023 and talks about Van Es surgery the previous week.
Either the new article is poorly worded or there has been some issue with the first operation

Hayes has proven nothing , one good game, a few average and was dropped , not saying he wont make it but is no lock in at this point in timeAgreed. Between King, Hammer, Hayes, Sharman and Keeler I think we are set for KPFs.

So either the new article is re-stating his surgery time incorrectly or he is gone in for a second set of surgery whatever that is.Try this then, from a day ago

Several Saints are scheduled in for routine post-season surgery in preparation for the 2024 pre-season.www.saints.com.au
Ginnivan for Phillipou, you heard it here first.
I still think he’s best in the centre.Where do we play Clark?
He can’t spread. He can’t gut run defensively.
Beautiful kick and good hands. Good decision maker. But his mobility is a major deficiency.
I’m darned if I know where we put him.

I think like all the players that we had grand plans to let go it comes down to are we better off with Clark or pick 30-40? It sounds like a great idea to trade players for picks until you realize we’re not going to get anything decent for them if they go.
