How the hell are we going to pay the floor of the cap?!

If you look at the bigger picture it would seem that:
  • we are trading or drafting youth into the club
  • club is aware that Tassie entry with the draft pick bonanza that they will get, so imperative that we are loading up now on adding younger players
  • cutting players that the club doesn't believe will take us to a premiership. Benefit is not only a rejuvenation of the list, but also a freeing up of salary cap

As to your question. on us paying to reach the salary cap minimum.
  • firstly bring payments forward. This isn't about paying players more than they are worth, that is a recipe for problems. But rather our contracted players, all have agreed payment amounts each year, bring these payments forward
  • then in 2024 and 2025 have the cash to offer huge contracts to key free agents. No picks needed, just lots of this available cap space

So bring in youth, ditch players with limited future, lower our cash commitments, forward pay player contracts and then offer huge contracts to free agents that will give us the missing pieces of our premiership puzzle

Seems that there is a plan and discipline at the club. This is a sustainable plan. Now just need to nail the trade picks and bring in those 5 star free agents.

The embedded resources below are kept up to date by the trade board mods (as much as possible – we are human after all). Enjoy!

I believe that we will regret getting rid of Coffield in the future.
And I for one am glad Jack Billings is still a saint.
