Hmm but they had the monsters in dunkley mcluggage berry there to add the intimadion

But if we get Lalor and have Curtin and Edwards in the wings big body mids is more than covered with super agro Pedlar around the place too.
There’s a difference between a big-bodied mid and a tall mid, though. Dunkley you’d classify as big-bodied as he really throws his weight around in the contest, whereas you wouldn’t use that description for Dawson, despite being about the same height

I think you’ve got to have at least one midfielder who is willing to be aggressive and industrious on both sides of the ball, even if they don’t get star numbers. Dunkley is that guy for Brisbane, Rowbottom for Sydney, Drew for Port. I think Peatling can be that guy for us (although I know your thoughts on him)

GC are going to be close to getting 2 picks in before a Lombard bid. They may look at trading pick 13 and 23.
To move up higher.

Or if they think he will go before 10 then 6 and 13.

And I wouldn't be against that as a Richmond fan either.

Just seems a bit strange to have a look at him and see him dominate VFL games and not pick him
Highly hypothetical, but if Smith was available at pick 4, we could look at dropping down to pick 6 (Richmond if they get it through trade) and a Richmond F2, very tempting.

Anyone that’s watched juniors over the years think of a player that really cleaned up their disposal on an AFL list?
Or is it a case of what you see as a junior is what you’re going to get.
Alot of guys can and do improve significantly just by kicking footys everyday

Tom Mccartin could barely kick a drop punt

But normally if your base is low then you end up a below average kick , exceptions of course

Alger 😍😍

I get the ANB trade but he’s the sort of player we will miss out on because of it
Yeah he’s a favourite of mine. Really, given we’re getting Peatling, we should’ve traded Berry to make a list spot for both a pick for an Alger-type, as well as ANB (a Murphy replacement both for now and for the future)

Draper went at 66% disposal efficiency at SANFL League this year.

But having a 182cm kid playing inside mid in the second best comp in the country is a pretty tough assignment. I'd expect his disposal effectively in the AFL to be better than 70% once he gets used to the pace (with his own pace buying him the time to focus on hitting his target).

he looked to have better disposal efficiency at the the nationals, as you'd expext.

But he'll never be as accurate as Smith, whose knock is being a bit safe and not taking the game on as much as he could.

It will be interesting to see which style would lead to more goals/ turnovers/ wins.
Hands are a fair bit better than his kick, very good by hand, OK by foot.

Be bold. If that was an option for us, then swap 4 for 6 with a swap of 2025 F1's...might get us pick 1 next year
Could be certainly a possibility
And very tempted

Pick 6- Murphy Reid / Josh Smillie

2025 - Dyson Sharp

That would be a good result

Thoughts Mutineer Murphy Reid appeal to you ?

Well we could have taken the faster bloke there on DIT's list Rhys Unwin too who only got back from injury just before the Nationals....basically a small forward that went pretty bloody well in the midfield when Lalor went down and he was forced into the midfield rotations for the Finals. ;)

Still think Ollie Hannaford with his elite pressure, hardness at the contest and goalkicking nous was the small forward for us if we had the pick and list spot. It's actually a draft for small forwards but I think Ollie has them all for pressure and hardness.

Can't say he does with the Crows in mind, nice player, nice skills, great composure, not quick, not sure about him as a mid inside the contest at AFL level.

Hannaford will go well before 28 now, I think. Contender to be taken in the teens

It is tempting, however I get thecfeeling that we like 4 players equally so unlikely to do it. You’d want more than a second to go from 4 to 6. GWS gave us their F1 in that scenario a few years ago.

Murphy Reid probably won’t go before pick 15 I think, and certainly not what we want, but the idea of trading back with Richmond to 6 certainly has appeal. NM look like they are really keen on Tauru, and Melb could even go after Kako, so who knows who could still be available.

The other possibility is actually trading up with NM to 2 if we are really keen on Draper or Lalor.

Nah Ollie is going well before our 2nd pick and maybe in the low to mid teens

Alger Angove Unwin more the ones at 28 +
