Very different to Welsh.... what was his 20meter time again?
I don't pay too much attention to times on wooden floorboards .....how many games are played in straight lines on floor boards

Grass is an entirely different surface ....I was really quick on floorboards / asphalt in runners

Besides, if he's being taken by the Crows, what has Welsh to prove .....except up the cost to the Crows

Of course you were, was that before or after saving Golden North 🤣

there are more than a few people on here who are more concerned re his height and being 191cm vs 193cm than his professionalism and running/ work ethic

I find that v strange ,who cares if he's 191cm or 193cm if he can run at speed for longer

He’s not old enough. Most young men are dickheads at 18. Give him time.
thats the hope

kids in pathways are overall much more mature these days

most of the vics are ultra pro's, northern academy kids too

he's had afl club exposure + national academy so has seen some stuff he should be able to learn from, he's not some kid out of amateur football

how could he not have an attitude problem though? surely its obvious

professionalism isn't a switch, he's old enough and had enough exposure by now

Seriously?

He turned 18 two months ago FFS, isn't even on an AFL list yet.

You're in this weird BF/Draft headspace where you don't realise how stupid the things you are saying sound.

no i'm in the reality space

every year i've seen some of more talented kids fail

i'm not stamping papers but there's a warning sign here

Yep exactly

Also the thing you’ve got to remember is that clubs don’t promise spots during the year , there is not a 100% guarantee he gets drafted or rookie listed at all by any club including us

Which makes me further perplexed he wouldn’t just finish off the year a bit better than he has

We got special permission for him to play and train with us this year instead of the Eagles

First time we have ever done that.

Behind closed doors we have 100% guaranteed to take him. Let’s not be naive.

Watching the footage - he wasn’t trying at all. The weight is a concern but no question he will be a Crow

it will be easy taking him as a rookie

I don’t know , if it was me and not one club including the crows had given me a guarantee of being drafted I’d finish off the last 5 weeks of the season to get to combine ( especially as I’ve only been invited to state combine ) , PB not even needed . Just in reasonable shape and able to get somewhere close to prev results and look the part physically … like a guy that’s about to start a pre season next month

To me this summarises why the Vics and even allies ( due to academies ) are way more advanced than SA kids these days
It’s like rocking up to your first job interview in tracksuit pants.

lol .. he's the son of nuffie who loved nightclubs, late nights and getting on the bourbon and cokes

I seriously doubt there is a whole lot going on between his ears right now beyond where his next his next feed is coming from

What a terrible take. What does a 2km time trial have to do with how a forward can succeed at AFL level.

Shit - we spent two high end draft picks on players with elite 2km time trials (Ned/Jones) and they both turned out to be absolute spuds.

And once more - he kicked 5 goals as a 17 year old at SANFL 6weeks ago. JFC

Hey- stop stealing my position! I am saying lets wait - you are the one saying 17 teams dont want him! Ya gotta remember that Jeffrey!
Because a 2km time trial gives a base line for one of the (but not the only) most important KPI for a player.

As for the strawman - being able to run good doesn’t guarantee you’ll be an AFL footballer. Just as being able to football good doesn’t guarantee you’ll be an AFL footballer - Especially if you think you can coast on talent alone.
