Hard to believe they'd have interest in him TBH
Well, believe it, it doesn’t sound like the Eagles would’ve pulled that trade earlier today if Draper was still likely at pick 3. They’ve had him top of their board for a very long time, so if they got wind about North taking him at 2, it makes sense to get the Baker trade sorted and still allow yourself to draft the best WA midfielder. I’ve never been super confident of Draper ever getting to our pick.

I'm sorry, I don't.

Nothing to do with you either, I just think they would be looking elsewhere.

Ebert was fairly vanilla and seen as a sure thing afl player. Draper has a lot more weapons and weapons that we lack. Very different scenario imo
I think the pressure was more to pick a local lad

You may have the inside track and I respect that but it still doesnt make sense when they had other options to get into that mid-pick territory

Yes pick 3 is a lay down but for a WC who needs to speed up a rebuild splitting picks makes some kind of sense

I wonder how invested they really were in P3 - again because if not Draper then there are still 3 other quality lads available

Again it seems non-sense

North and **** off they already have enough midfielders and they don't need to take any more to ruin.

He’s got no idea about SA draftees, would take his opinion on anyone from here with a huge grain of salt. All of his contacts are very Vic centric.
You do realise a goodly number of SA lads are managed by the big Victorian Management set ups, Ben Williams Players INK for instance who manages a lot of SA boys along with the Swans Heeney, Gulden and Logan McDonald and Nathan O'Driscoll both from WA, his company is set up in Victoria. Cal would absolutely be well informed about the SA lads through their management. In case you're nor aware Ben manages Sid Draper.

Just saw the Korn post a video condemning Port and the Houston trade.

This is bad news for Lukosius.

He better perform in 2025 as the Korn is very very angry. He will be scrutinising his every move on the field and I bet he can't wait to torch him at every opportunity if he does anything wrong.

As will the Power supporters, unmercifully.

Good luck Jack. You'll need it.

Everything should be taken with a grain of salt a month out from the draft, plenty of info gets thrown out there to muddy the waters. I believe my source on North and Draper, whether that changes before draft night is anyone’s guess.

Draper to NORTH makes sense ....their midfield isn't quick, and they don't need yet another big bodied Mid

Draper suits Norths midfield mix

Cal Twomey doesn't do his Phantom Draft now ....why not ?

Because he's not the best judge of talent .....he's a mouthpiece for recruiters, supposedly an excellent networker ....and waits till he pieces all the feedback from a broad spectrum of recruiters B4 deducing his Draft Order

Jeffcrowe bests of the State Combines, my boy Ollie Hannaford pretty impressive across the board, bit surprised by Hugh Boxhall's numbers athletically though I've liked his inside grunt and ball winning ability, I reckon he's one player that would have not done his draft chances any harm with recruiters seeing he looks to have scope outside the contest with those athletic attributes, could be a bit of a bolter. Saints NGA defender Lennox Hoffman and Chargers rebounding defender both displaying the speed thety show on the field on the clock too. Might be some smokeys not spoken a lot about that go higher than expected?

Mature aged man mountain ruck Ajang Kual Mon might be worth a look for our SA team with a view to see what he's got?

I don’t think he’s good enough to push out the others in medium term , at least in first mid rotation

Ie Wardlaw Sheezel LDU and even Mckercher when he moves in there >> Draper

It doesn’t make sense to me that north would go for him

Wouldn’t surprise me now if Hannaford goes top 15

Him and Tauru the bolters

None of those are quick .....Powell was used in a lot of Mid rotations this year, but he's more in the Jack Macrae mould of accumulator

You need more than 4 Mids in rotation

Wardlaw has speed to burn, very explosive.

Mckercher will be their quick mid

He’s dynamite

Wardlaw power and speed over 10-20 and LDU has speed too

I reckon Draper is a wasted pick for them , he’d apply good pressure for them forward but this is pick 2 , they need to take a real difference maker to their team

Listening to Getable and because this is a super draft they were saying the difference between day pick 1 to pick 6 is probably not as huge as “normal” drafts. I guess a person with the right values is worth more if the skill difference is not as huge
