Disagree.

If you are convinced one player is going to be much better than the other 3 guys - you get your guy.

If you genuinely believe one of the 4 is gonna be a "dusty" level player - you do it.

This is what the recruiters get paid to do.
Who do you think that player is that's that far above the others that we'd compromise our F1 for them?

Trading our f1 and p4 for p2 is totally worth it. Next years draft is compromised beyond belief. Most of the first round is either academy players or father sons. We cannot risk missing out on Draper. Drapers explosive speed and attacking game is what we have been crying out for years for.
If he's the one you genuinely want and you think he'll go earlier than what you've got, you should make a move..... but giving away next years 1st rounder is a HUGE price to pay

If the club does anything with our F1 - including shifting it down - to move up in a group where there's no consensus over who's the better player, then we should riot and spill the board. If we're worried about players leaving, then be a better club, one that wins finals and flags. Players generally don't leave those often. If we want Draper that badly, be a better club that he'll want to be traded to.

I also think it's more likely than not Draper is there at 4. Did hear something interesting (not from a viable source) that Carlton may have actually traded up for Taura - thinking North will trade out of 2. Seems unlikely but given they have exactly 1 AFL standard KPDon their list, that might not be completely absurd.
I think there's zero chance of us moving ....the gap in players doesn't make the cost worthwhile .....if it was Harley Reid / JHF then yes ....but that top 6 players are all very close in ability, and all Mids we desire

Gather you are not following the draft very closely this year!!

hmmm, I wonder if they have thought of "be a better club", that could fix everything

What if there are concerns regarding one of the top 4 being a go home issue and that player falls to us at 4 (Draper already picked). Let's say it's FOS that falls to us but we know he's a massive flight risk.

Do you then wish we traded up for one of Lalor/Draper/Smith?
There will be a gun player at pick 4.

It really is that simple.

If they end up going home like Dangerfield, you deal with it then.
