1. LalorI'd have:
1. Lalor
2. Draper.
3. Smith
4. Langford
5. FOS
In most circumstances it’s a clear disadvantage to not spend the cap. And while there are carry forward rules, they are quite limited.
The biggest issue is we are talking about rejigging after the year wrapped up. Even then, our 2024 cap would have been largely locked away from 2023.
My view is they would be trying to get as close to 100% each year with a small amount for contingencies - I just don’t think we have much wriggle room at all, not even to squeeze out a Burgess.
There was a poster on our board who as part of their employment dealt with the mechanics of the salary cap - can’t remember the name. Would be interesting to hear what actually goes on in clubland (including what tweaks they can do during the year to re-allocate) rather than hypothesising!
1. LalorWhat is the general consensus amongst Crows BF users - who do you want if everyone is available?
Likely he makes it past pick 1?You interviewed with Lalor again today.
Who is he the son of?You keep on forgetting about our F/S Mitchell Stephens. We'll need those 3rd rounders for him.
MarkWho is he the son of?
That's interesting. You interviewed with Lalor again today.

Likely he makes it past pick 1?
lol, thank you. Could not think who was named Stephens that played for the Crows.Mark STEVENS FWIW
If we get Lalor someone is going to have to buy Mutineer a pack ofYou interviewed with Lalor again today.
You interviewed with Lalor again today.
do you think a trade with north will happen?
For us yesAllan over FOS?
WOWYou interviewed with Lalor again today.
That's a fair call. To me more than anything else we simply need a midfield gun. We have enough solid midfield contributors now to build around the strengths of whoever we draft. For us yes
If they want Tauru, even though they don’t rate him #2, they should get the best deal they can for 2. Otherwise they’re just burning the excess value of the pick.I don’t know, but it makes the most sense for them.
They’ve knocked other approaches back from Richmond and St Kilda (the latter because they didn’t want to slide back to 8), so if it’s a small slide back of just two picks and they secure a F2(?), then it’s ideal.
It does seem like semantics though in justifying Tauru at 4 instead of 2.
Draper, Lalor, Smith (all very close)What is the general consensus amongst Crows BF users - who do you want if everyone is available?
The pick trade also need to guarantee they can get Tauru, North probably think Melbourne will select him at pick 5 given May is close to retirement. If they want Tauru, even though they don’t rate him #2, they should get the best deal they can for 2. Otherwise they’re just burning the excess value of the pick.

Hope we can get him somehowYou interviewed with Lalor again today.
