Impossible they offer their F1 for pick 22( which 18 will be) by itself.

Going Cal's Sep form guide, he has the below players from 15 till 23
Hotton, Trainor, Berry, Lindsay, Shanahan, J.Whitlock, Hynes, Faull, Dattoli, M.Whitlock, Dodson

If one of these players are available at Tigers pick 18( which ill be 21/22), do you expect Bombers to trade F1 to get them?

Bombers F1 would likely be a Top 8 pick, I can't see this happening.

So I hope Tigers are ready to use all their picks.
No reason why we wouldn't be
Dusty , Bolton,Baker , Grimes,Naismith,Graham,Rioli,Pickett all gone (8 spots)

We could easily delist another 5 if we had to use all 8 picks Cumberland , Dow , Mcintosh , Colina , Coulthard all still remain without a contract offer.

But 1st Pick on the 2nd day has always had overs offered for them and in this draft both pick #23 and #24 will have clubs chasing them and it wont be for F2's
Gold Coast , Essendon , Geelong , North , West Coast have all made noice they want back into this draft
Pick #23 this year will be rated much higher than in 2025 so thats a F1

If you think that 18+ 23 in this draft will be required to get an f1 in 2025 you are in for a big surprise on draft night .

18 will get f1 with Bells on, and even then unless it’s nth I doubt Richmond bothers
I agree. Clubs will have guys in their top 8 or so getting out to 20 just because everyone will see it differently.

He attended an elite private school while based on the Gold Coast too. It's not like you plucked him out of a government school.
I don’t think there would of been much difference in his football wether he stayed up there or down here

Post Ashcroft or without him?
Could easily see Tauru slide in front of him and I think some might prefer enough others to him to see him slide as late as 10 or 11. Unlikely but it wouldn’t shock me. He had a fairly underwhelming champs compared to the rest of the perceived top 10 in this draft and had no real excuse comparative to say O’Sullivan for doing so.

Bombers pick 28 and 31 are both not needed for points even if Kako is bid on at 8. They have more than enough.

Wonder what their plans are to trade for that. IMO would make more sense to offer both for tigers pick 20
Why would a team holding 8 high picks split one for two lower picks, just doesn't make sense.
and then try to swap 20 out for a F1, any F1.

I doubt any bottom 8 team is offering their F2 for just one of them as both will be pick in 30's after the bids.
Not sure if you've followed any commentary about next year's draft, but it's possible we'll see the longest first round in history, with the number of potential academy and father son kids in the second half of next year's first round. This is a large reason why so many teams want to trade out of next years draft.
Would like Hawks to offer Blues F2 for one of them if Hawks find no one bites on their Blues F1 offers for teen picks.

There is option for them to trade pick 28 to a team's F2 and after Kako bid trade back that team's 2nd rounder for their F2.

Repeat same for pick 31.

Yeah I can't see us trading up.

The talk is that Richmond may need to shed a pick and get another in next year's draft

Would Tigers consider Saints pick 8 + our F1 for 10 & 11?

Tigers would have 1 6 8 in the draft + Saints F1

Saints have 7 10 11 in this years draft less F1 in next year's

Saints F1 would be around pick 5 to 12 and Tigers get a 2 pick upgrade but still have plenty of picks in this year's draft ... they would get ahead of Melbourne's pick 9
I can see something lime our 2/F1 for Saints 7/8 future 2.

That would be such a terrible deal for us.

Pick 2 and highly likely top 5 pick for 7/8 and at best 19 but a lot more likely 25.
Saints also unlikely to deal unless one sided like that so they can build in this draft

Our F1 is far more valuable. I would be aiming F1 to Tigers for 11 and 20. Lose on next year but build one group in similar age bracket.

Find it hilarious these geniuses who keep sprouting dees “need a key forward”. Yeah maybe back in 2021 we did, now we have JvR, Jefferson, Turner, Petty, Kentfield and Fullerton on our list developing. If we take another they won’t even get a run in the 2s.

We have also lost Brayshaw, Harmes, Jordan, Dunstan and Neal-Bullen as mids in last 12 months.

But yeah, we are going to take Armstrong in a midfielders draft with a top pick so he can develop in our 3rds.

Guess we'll never know. I just think moving to Melbourne isn't always the best option for everyone.

Was he on scholarship at TSS?

What school did he go to in Melbourne?
Coomera Anglican College IIRC. Went to Carey Grammar in Melbourne.

Top 10 Phantom Draft

1 Richmond Sam Lalor
2 North Finn O'Sullivan
3 Brisbane Levi Ashcroft (matched bid)
4 Carlton Jagga Smith
5 Adelaide Sid Draper
6 Melbourne Harvey Langford
7 Richmond Josh Smillie
8 Essendon Isaac Kako (matched bid)
9 Gold Coast Leo Lombard (matched bid)
10 StKilda Tobie Travaglia

Draper really needs a team to start a proper shitfight
There's only one way to settle this, Draper should go to Saints so we can actually compare. Phillipou has been playing for a poor side so as a young kid he's bound to have some poor performances too. Been watching SA draftees for ages, I'd personally have JHF way above any other SA draftee in modern era. Rozee would be a distant 2nd and Phillipou and Draper are tied.

This draft's top end talent isn't as early as other drafts. It's great and deep, not elite and deep. There's no JHF, Daicos, Darcy, Reid even Walsh and Rowell right at the top end. The reason why no one can pick out a #1 pick is because all prospects have had a bit of inconsistency throughout the year but have had some brilliant outings. Draper perhaps the most consistent, which is why he's in discussions as the best prospect but otherwise, his ceiling is lower but floor is higher. Phillipou's ceiling is at another level if he plays at a club with an aggressive gameplan and good development.

To be fair, that line up of key forwards is a murderer's row of "probably not going to make it". By my count, there's one okay forward, one defender, and a lot of unlikelies.

I think Shanahan makes a lot of sense for your second pick.

Think it’s very likely that someone will move for a Tauru or Armstrong. I was just hoping you meant pick 8 (leaving aside the FS / Academy) so that we can get two mids 😄

Regardless they are on our list. We would want to be delisting a couple before bringing on even more to develop.

What’s the point of having 4-5 developing key forwards in the same forward line at Casey when we have **** all midfield depth to even get the ball down there for them all to play jack in the pack.

This thread has got the "shiny new toy" feel about it
Nah, I just remember how big everyone was about the Crows trying to get MP,.and there was big raves about how he is the exact same type of player they needed.

I'm not seeing the same type of hype around Draper, but maybe that's because it's a good chance they can get Draper, while they would have had to make a bold move to get MP.

Then, with this draft being considered stronger, and MP going later than Draper is expected to go (not just with the Crows, but all the talk was that WC were going to take him at three), I'm just wondering what the general thoughts were on how they both stack up.

I did hear that MP was a bit of a FIGJAM, while MP isn't.

Probably not but value next draft at top end looks alot better and more likely more shallow. Are you watching next years draft at all?
Yes, I am. So far it's nothing to get excited by, especially if you don't have a northern academy. We'll have a top end pick next year. Yours might be 7+, pushed closer to 15 by all the academy kids. We know what we can get at 11 and 20 this year and it's two bloody good young players. We're not giving that away for one possible next year.
