There are plenty of clubs/fans that don't even know what a GF is

Alas.

This is well trodden ground.

It's only the 6543 mention of it in this forum.

Would be nice to address the draftees and what they offer.

Rather than constant revisionist bs

Take it to the Keep Horse thread with rusty

Kids we draft today won't fix immediate issues with this club, it's not a who cares but we didn't have pick 1 or a chance at an instant impact player.

Of course maybe one or two of these guys does play but our history suggest even then it's a minimal role.

Yes the draft longer term matters absolutely. I don't know about you but I don't have time to watch every kid in the country kick the footy around all year so I am surprised so many here know so much about the kids on offer beyond reading others reports.

Looking at height and position of these two yeah can see a bit of oh ok that is interesting and our draft history is pretty ordinary, but I think with all these
players it's a wait and see and review later.

Good luck to them , time will tell

Richmond must have been laughing after North offered them their f1 for pick 12 and then called back 90 minutes later and offered it for 27.
North: Can we get it for 12
Richmond: No
....

North: Can we get it for 14
Richmond: No
....

North: Can we get it for 23
Richmond: No
....

North: Can we get it for 27 if you chuck in an F2
Richmond: I heard you right? 27 and F2 for F1?

Personally the only way i see it somewhat working out is if they trade the F2 in for like 31 and get the other Whitlock brother

I can't believe all the other team's passed before Richmond finally said yes at 27.

and I am upset we have done nothing to address our clearance issues. Make the Grand Final again and the same thing will happen again.
We could have all the greatest clearance players who've ever played the game and the same thing will happen again - it's in their heads now.

Maybe not taking a key forward, was an olive branch for Mcartney to commit to us in 2026?
Also don’t we also have another highly rated tall forward coming through in 2026?

So King and Chamberlain next year then hopefully Mcartney and the other one in 2026

Who is mcartney?

I imagine our offer was our F1 + our pick for their F1

I suspect that is what they requested from us. Likely the gap between any possible fall off from us and improvement by North wasn’t worth the price of doing the trade in our favour considering our academy picks next season.

The second the F1 was replaced by a F2, the balance turned in the Tigers favour and the trade was done.

I would put the odds of the Swans drafting McCartney at 0.01%. I highly doubt he’ll nominate us or even be allowed to if he was leaning towards it which there is no suggestion that there is.

They basically got Whitlock for nothing given Richmond's F2 is a guaranteed to be the first pick in the second round.

When Norf are making us look bad in comparison....
We are at Pick 28 on the clock atm and its the first pick of the second round for this draft.
You can look at historical trends and this is right where the second round starts between #26-#30 for the last 4-5 years. Therefore North effectively traded most likely 2*#27 for #5 or 6

With my dislike of some so called journo's , was Cal the closest one to getting it right .
Cavanaugh and Batten are trying to get out of it , they are useless
Cal had the top 9 or 10 spot on but Hotton blew it up. Tbf GWS usually stuffs up his Phantom anyway but Richmond having soo many picks it was hard to tell what they would do after the first couple

Ah, ok, I got it wrong.
Still I like Norf doing it, they load up now with a player that's going to take an extra year and will be ready for their flag in 3 years.

Twomey got the first eleven right but after that nada. No-one predicted what happened with the talls. So universal!
Yep Richmond had too many selections that it was impossible to tell what they would do after grabbing the midfielders
