Expected based on being potentially father-son prospects for Carlton? Kane Cornes seems to rate them rather highly.

I haven't seen a whole heap, however, if based off what I've read & seen then Ben is rated between 10 and 20 and Lucas 20 to 30 roughly.

My observations are just speculation on them being picked up and their Dad having a coaching role at Port 🤷
Ben is a 3rd round pick
Lucas is rookie draft or very late national draft

That was perhaps the case way early in the year but not anywhere. They are both past pick 30 now.

Food for thought 🤔

Port pick swap 13 & 36 to Sydney for 19 & 22

Port then trade at 19 for Ben Camporeale and at 22 for Lucas Camporeale.

The twins have not nominated Carlton for father-son.

Scott Camporeale (their Dad) joins Port as new Coach of SANFL Magpies.

29 pick used to get Benny Barrett.

Then rest to either get Port father-sons or they're rookie listed.

Think Ben Camporeale was inside mid? And Lucas as wing/half back. Maybe get them both trained for wings opposite one another.
No can do. We're reserving our nepotism academy slots for more Hinkleys.

Taj Hotton, Kale Gerryen, Rome Burgoyne and Benny Barrett if he makes it through to a cat B rookie.

That’s enough draftees. We’ve carried too many physically immature project players the last few years.

Next year’s draft we’ll have to find a big bodied inside mid.

Hotton is the one. A chance he doesn't make it to our pick though.

Just gonna take the best available player with our first pick.

Also we need a genuine lockdown small defender who can play on the speedy small forwards. Too many times we get destroyed by those types of players.

We need to trade 13 back with GWS & Sydney

13 and 36 for 15 or 16 and 21 (GWS)

15/16 and 29 for 19,22

End up with
19,21,22 - sweet spot in this draft
May trade out one live to a desperate club for a F1

If we do the above Houston trade becomes

Houston and 39 for Luko, 19 and 21/22

That’s much more palatable!

Receives: Jack Lukosius, Joe Richards, Rory Atkins, picks 13, 29, 36 and 50
Gives up: Dan Houston, picks 39 and 58, 2025 first-round pick

If we break this down to value per player as close as possible

Atkins = 58 (I know, it's overs)
Richards = 39 (slight overs)
Luko = F1 (Slight overs but fine with it)
Leaves Houston = 13, 29, 36 and 50

The club will spin this as us receiving equivalent value of 2 for Houston which we all know it's not a true reflection.

But saying that, we do have an opportunity to be flexible with this. I wouldn't do any trades tbh until draft night. The silver lining is 50 will likely become 43 on draft night ones 4 bids come in and as it stands, 11 picks are consumed in matching it.

FWIW I don't think Hotton gets to us, so I'd split 13 for either 19 and 22 or do 13 and 29 for 20,23 and 24. Do it on draft night but this gives us options.

Say we do the deal with Richmond for 20, 23 and 24 (23, 26, 27 after bids)

23 - Hannaford
26 - Gerryne
27 - Dodson
36 - Urquhart
50 (43 after bids and picks gone) - Murphy/Day-Wicks/Ned Bowman

That would make me happier about the Houston deal.

The way I cut it up:

50 and 58 cancel each other out
36 and 39 cancel each other out
Lukosius for the 2025 first round pick - fair enough
Richards, Atkins, 13, 29 for Houston - if that 29 was 10 to 15, I'm happy.

If we get real value from 13 and 29, the trade will shift back in our favour.
