Can he kick straight? I'm still scarred by Port's inability to draft Key Forwards who not only can crash packs and take pack marks as well as contested marks BUT actually kick straight and aim in-between the two big white posts.
They would be eyeing off Gerryen as that key forward, 2nd ruck option that we desperately need.
Those are some nice highlights.
Not sure if it's just the number but there's a bit of Tom Hawkins about how he moves.

He's got a pretty good kick on him for a ruck.
Think most draft rankings/predictions have him in that 20-40 range. I wouldn't be surprised if the eagles target him at P26, so we would probably need to get in there before with maybe P23 if we snag that from GC.
Pretty tidy for a big man, off both feet too.
Rookie me central rates him 40-60.
Yeah, not sure if there is a consensus on him really. ESPN has him at 21, SMYTHE has him at 43 over on the draft board eDPS and Cal Twomey have him outside their top 30 (not sure by how far). Davo-27 had him at 18.
So people seem to either rate him highly (like pick 20ish) or not so much (more towards that other end around 40+), but not much in between. Maybe we are hoping he slips to one of our later picks?

I’d take Dodson. We need another ruck.
I like the idea of targeting a true forward-ruck rather than the other way round. I.e. someone who plays the Riley Thilthorpe role, or the Brendan Lade 2004 role.
Sweet and Visentini give us good first ruck stocks. They need to be supported by someone who can play naturally as a forward but can capably pinch hit in ruck and more importantly provide something around the ground.
Gerreyn has that profile although fitness/endurance testing, sprinting and jumping were all not great but agility excellent.
Ideally we’d have four picks inside 40, and we could use the third one (say pick 29) on him.

The Future Stars Big Board has Gerreyn at 10. Crazy.

He must've been a midfield that shot up late because he has a few of those traits like good form with his kicking and he likes to take a bounce as well and seems calm anywhere on the field.

Sloppy skills too often, particularly by hand with a lot of wasted ball use. Having said that there is a lot to like and work with. He was competing against much smaller opponents to be fair but maybe he still grows a bit too. He fits a need for us now and into the future. I’m not sure I’d spend a pick before 25 on him though as there is the usual risk with these big kids that they don’t quite step up.

I'd love for Scully to stay. A proper goal kicking forward. But I got a feeling they don't like his lack of mobility and the fact he goes missing for large periods of games.
Even if Scully was retained, I'd still draft a fwd/ruck to play with Visentini since Soldo is going.
