State combine testing over the weekend

Benny Barrett ran 2.913 seconds in the 20m sprint. He was the quickest in the state combine.
In the AFL national combine he would of came 3rd. The quickest in the national was 2.815 seconds by Gabriel Stumpf

Jacob Molier (ruckman) came 2nd in the SA State Combine 20m sprint with 2.920 seconds

That's a sharp speed for a guy who's name means blunt or dull in German (no not Barrett :p)

With both Soldo and Clurey set to stay, forget about drafting rucks and KPDs.

Inside mid, winger and small forward possibly the 3 positions to draft.

I’m pretty happy with winger.

We’ve got sinn, jase burg, hugh Jackson and will lorenz looks a real find.

Sure a cpl of those options will likely play hbf and wing but also we’re adding rome burger as a hbf / wing and rozee / butters etc should be rotating through there.

Inside mid / genuine onballer a big need imo.

Also, we have a lot of key defenders maybe but very few 3rd tall intercepting types. I wouldn’t go searching for one but if there’s a nice one there sure.

Anyone seen Jacob Molier from Sturt?

201cm ruck, just turned 18 a few days ago, so he's a bottom ager.

At the State Draft Combine he had the highest vertical leap, second fastest 20m sprint.

According to what's on the internet, he palms the ball pretty well to his mids, can take defensive marks, can get his own clearances, and his disposal efficiency is quite high for a big guy.

Project ruck, perhaps?
Clearly, Hodson is Sturt's main ruck, and was SA ruck in national Champs, and is older. So Molier plays as back up ruck, but seems to be coping with that ok.

That's surprising. average 1.1 goals a game 5 kicks 4 handballs and 3 tackles.

Ive always liked him and noticed hes got his weight down to 74 kgs (168cm) but didn't think his input was there this year.

That said we will list less talented players.

I would love him to have a run at the Magpies.
Can't poach him at the magpies now that McLennan has moved from central's

The athleticism of Sturt tall Jacob Molier may have caught the eye of recruiters at the Telstra AFL State Draft Combine on Saturday. Molier excelled in the jumping tests, winning the vertical jump on the day with a height of 64cm and finishing equal-first in the left foot running vertical jump (84cm).

However, it was Molier’s speed in the 20m sprint which was particularly exciting for a player of his size, finishing second with a time of 2.920 seconds. The only other player to run faster on the day was South Adelaide speedster Benny Barrett, who ran a blistering time of 2.913 seconds.

Woodville-West Torrens’ Tate Delmenico performed strongly across the testing combine, recording an 80cm left foot running vatical jump, a 3.040 second 20m sprint and led all-comers in the agility test in a time of 8.213 seconds.
Glenelg utility Thomas McKay also performed well recording an 81cm left foot running vertical jump, 8.309 second agility test and a six minutes and 43 second 2km time trial.
Rounding out the strong performances were Norwood’s Jay Polkinghorn who tied first with Molier in the left foot running vertical jump by recording 84cm, while at the SA Athletics Stadium, Glenelg’s Harrison Ramm and Woodville-West Torrens U18 captain Jett Hasting couldn’t be split in the 2km time trial, both crossing the line in six minutes and 29 seconds.
Kade Herbert, Louie Montgomery and Tom Cochrane were all unable to test due to injury.

We've already got 3 rucks.

I'd go Alex Dodson at a million miles an hour.

Outside of that someone is interested in him or he wouldn't be at the Combine. Finding a spot on the Rookie list looks like being hard work though and with Soldo hanging around can we develop a Ruck?
