You missed the part where Heath only performs when he's the number 1 ruck.

Which is why I said I favour Keeler this week and not Heath. Keeler to play mainly forward.

He's not a no2 ruck nor a key forward, struggles when playing majority of matches there.

Keeler has taken around one centre bounce in about 12 months, I don't think so.

I am only proposing Keeler as the chop out ruck. Keeler had 3 HOs in his last game . Remember that players like Owens have been used as the Marshall chop out option.

What do we get from playing Campbell? We got slaughtered in the middle last week until he was subbed off, and he's literally the oldest bloke on the list.

Why do you favour Keeler? He hasn't played a full game of ruck/fwd in almost a year, and when he has, he hasn't done much to warrant senior selection. He played one good quarter on the weekend in that position in his first game back, theres no way we rush him in against the best team in the comp

Because I am talking about Keeler playing as a forward, and only as a chop out ruck.

TBH I think he’s probably better off in the VFL for now playing full midfield minutes. There’s not a lot of good happening in the AFL team this year.

Against Brisbane he gave us first use and made our pedestrian midfield look like clearance specialists. He had a bad game against Sweet but I think that was just a bad match up. I don't think Grundy is. an outstanding tap ruck so might actually be okay against him.

Why was it a bad match up, Sweet is a VFL level ruckman & he got toweled up should not play.

I agree with everything except I think Keeler doesn't have fwd or ruck craft, would probably get zero touches. Campbell; Row, Membrey, Sharman is what I'd have this week, then swap Campbell for Heath next week

I am now more focused on the future personally and developing some of the players who might be part of it.
Plus to see how far off AFL level it some may be.

Members has been great, but now looks to be shot. Campbell was not the first, and is certainly the second.

Heath I would certainly give a crack before seasons end. But not this week.


Sharman I would have at FF, but I just think we need some extra height up forward, and Membery is not all tall, and his leap may not be what it was anymore as well.

So that is why I would debut Keeler this week.

Cordy may be the better option this week up forward, but he is not the answer going forward.

Pou if he comes back, needs to be playing a lot of midfield minutes. He struggled as a forward floater.

So keeler for a couple of games, then probably Caminiti can return up forward.

As I posted earlier we should now be selecting the team with an eye to round one next year. Campbell and Cordy don't fit into that narrative. If nothing else it will give the younger guys some hope that they have a future. Okay, the Swans aren't the best match up for that philosophy but who in reality are giving us a chance this week anyway. A dose of youthful enthusiasm can't hurt.

How do we find out about our youth if we are petrified to play them?

Footballers need to be coached and encouraged, not molly-coddled. I reckon Heath has enough spunk to perform admirably against three-club Brodie.

At the very least he’ll get a lesson about what he still has to learn.
Don’t believe he’s a shrinking violet - play him.
Campbell not an option for me. Too old, too slow. Not in our future plans.
